I’ve been writing about this from the start, almost a year now. And you’ve all been kind enough to indulge me in my speculation. But now, as the sh*t gets real, I’m becoming more and more sure of my earlier prediction.

Let me make this clear. Donald Trump is not. running. for. President. And he never has been. From the start it was just another long con, with this one being two prongs.

Donald Trump left office on January 20th, 2021. And as he got on Air Force 1 for the last time, Trump was in more legal peril than he ever had been in his life. Even at that early date, there was already an active federal investigation into not just the January 6th insurrection, but the events leading up to it. Which led right back to Trump. And he no longer had a friendly AG to turn the focus of the probe away from him.

The official start of the 2024 election season for the GOP will be the January Iowa caucuses in January of 2024. Under the building pressure of multiple federal and state investigations, Trump jumped the shark by announcing his 2024 candidacy on November 12, 2022, a full two years before the general election. I wrote at the time that it was bullsh*t. Trump was just trying to bluss the authorities from keeping up their investigation due to his status as a declared presidential candidate. Which was a pipe dream.

As time went by, I wrote that Trump wasn’t serious, that he was running a shadow campaign. The reason was simple. Trump had almost unlimited resources, and the field to himself. And yet he was sitting bunkered down in Mar-A-Lago instead of hitting the trail, holding rallies to raise money and rile up the base, and slam potential competitors before they even announced. It made no sense.

Now it makes perfect sense. Because Trump still isn’t running a traditional presidential campaign, even for him. As the field started to fill in, Trump started to campaign on the road again, but not as a presidential candidate. Instead he held rallies based almost solely on personal persecution by the DOJ to rile up the base. He isn’t even attacking declared opponents.

And now he’s campaigning self destructively. Traditionally the linchpin for the GOP primaries is Iowa. Whoever wins Iowa comes out with a leg up going into New Hampshire. And Iowa is problematic for Trump, simply because the salt-of-the-earth Iowans don’t buy his bullshit. Hell, he had to call in Jerry Falwell Jr. to stump with him to make himself presentable in Iowa in the first place.

But now he’s not only ignoring Iowa, he’s actively insulting Iowa. Trump passed op on GOP Iowa Senator Jodi Ernst’s annual Roast and Ride weekend at the Iowa county fairgrounds. Then he skipped a major Evangelical conference in Iowa last week. And now he’s planning on skipping another Evangelical event in Iowa this weekend which is holding a GOP presidential candidate forum.

But worse, he’s actively getting into a pissing contest with Iowa’s uber popular GOP Governor, Kim Reynolds. Reynolds has taken a public stance of being neutral in the 2024 presidential campaign, although she has developed a nasty habit of showing up at DeSantis Iowa events. This has led Trump to publicly insult her on his Bullsh*t Central platform as a traitor and a loser. This is not how you win votes in Iowa. And Trump has made it clear that he has no intention of showing up for the first GOP debate next month.

This is critical. A Trump loss in Iowa, and he seems to be doing everything possible to make it happen, weakens his frontrunner status. New Hampshire is next, and then South Carolina, where either Milli Hayley or Tim Scott could best him, making him look even weaker in the primary field. Super Tuesday could end up looking like a Godsmack mosh pit.

Trump doesn’t care. Because he’s not running for President, he’s running for freedom. If he wins the primaries, he has the chance to grab the gold ring, and either drop charges or pardon himself. And if he flops in the primaries? Hell, there isn’t a candidate in the primaries other than Chris Christie or possibly Asa Hutchinson who would refuse to pardon him.

It was always just what I said. Nothing more than one more long term con to try to keep his fat orange ass out of prison. And the more the campaign winds on, the more obvious it is that Trump isn’t running for President, he’s running to raise funds for his legal fees and delay the inevitable as long as possible.
And if that isn’t consciousness of guilt, then I don’t know what is.

  1. Nice. You’ve astutely illuminated the malodorous qualities of that “… pig on two cloven hooves …” It’s quite apparent that this pig is a turd that can’t be polished, nor rolled in glitter. This “… fat orange ass …” turd of a pig reeks of fact based “… consciousness of guilt …”

  2. Not too sure whether “Milli Hayley” was a typo or a Freudian Slip of Milli Vanilli. Actually, the Freudian Slip makes quite a bit of sense.

  3. Although the situation in 2023 is different from the situation in 2016, it is well to remember that in 2016 Trump wasn’t really running for president either. His victory surprised almost everyone, including himself and his own campaign. The only one who weren’t surprised were the Russians.

  4. Yup. Not running for president, running for his life. If he makes it to the ballot next year, he will lose badly and will likely run again. But this time it will be from the country, taking as much of his misappropriated campaign war-chest with him as he can. A “For Sale” sign will appear on the Mar-a-Lago lawn the day after the election, and the feds will seize it under civil forfeitures law: property used in the commission of a crime.

That leaves the question of his flight destination. I’m putting my money on Saudi Arabia — if he’s greased the wheels with enough classified documents.

  5. Well trump may run to Saudi but … do the Saudi’s want to break with the USA? Of course if only if diapers runs and crashes and burns. Or if another republikkkan somehow wins (🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️) does he get pardoned? Yeah, no time to let guard down. Need to hammer the NOT-C party of GQP, anon, q and other assorted nuts and looks. Just hammer all othe ones with an R… unless they have documented trashing of diapers and fools.

  6. The 2024 election is literally for OUR CHILDREN’S LIVES. Scientists, who are normally low key, are freaking out over our climate disaster. The most credible give us about 8 years before we reach a TIPPING POINT OF NO RETURN. Stop and imagine what will happen if the Guns over people party get ANY power. They will stomp the fossil fuel pedal, or block any real change. It’s MASS SUICIDE TIME. Every summer a child is left to bake in a hot car and dies. Imagine ALL OF US LOCKED IN A HOT CAR INDEFINITELY. For those who don’t believe in Hell…you better reevaluate your beliefs. The demons in suits will be happy to take us down that path. Remember Dante’s warning over the entrance to Hell…Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter. Fact. We either stop them or they kill our children and their future.

    • Scott – I guess I am more angry than you. It is not mass suicide time, it will be mass murder time, time for Republicans to pay their unpaid bills.

  7. And every single article in the MSM still includes: “tRump, the leading GOP candidate…” Gag!!!
Too bad only one of them can’t write it this way, Murf.
