I don’t know if going into competition with the fake news outlets that have put you where you are, as Donald Trump used to remind Fox News, is the best way to do business, but here goes. Donald Trump, Jr. has announced that he’s creating a “news aggregator” site, presumably because he doesn’t see enough misinformation on Fox News and Newsmax (and the soon to depart OAN, RIP.)

Junior is particularly bothered that the Durham report isn’t getting enough airtime and of course he would probably only be happy with 24/7 coverage of the Laptop From Hell, I think that’s safe to say.

But what in the world made him decide to put together a news platform, especially since Pater’s Truth Social platform isn’t exactly chewing up cyberspace?

Your guess is as good as anybody’s, what the motivation is behind this move. Vanity Fair:

Two of the conservative movement’s favorite claims are that the media is biased against it and that conservative voices are constantly being censored. In the case of the latter, that led Donald Trump to start Truth Social, a social media network where one can presumably incite a violent insurrection without violating the platform’s terms of service. As for the alleged media bias, Donald Trump Jr.’s got it covered.

Axios reports that Trump’s eldest son, alongside some other former Trump staffers, is starting a “news aggregation app” called MxM News, which the group believes has the potential to “compete with the likes of Apple News and Google News.” [Pause for laughter.] According to Axios, the service is “looking to disrupt the mobile news space similar to how [the] Drudge [Report] disrupted web publishing and Fox News disrupted cable television in the 1990s.” Enjoy the nightly ravings of Tucker Carlson? MxM may be right for you.

While the company’s tagline is “mainstream news without mainstream bias,” it’s unlikely that mainstream outlets will be heavily featured in the app’s feed, given what Junior’s father has had to say about them (“pathetic,” “fake,” “corrupt,” “deranged,” “sick,” “the enemy of the people”). In 2019, the then president reportedly had plans to tell federal agencies not to renew their subscriptions to The Washington Post and The New York Times, in what might have been the pettiest move in the history of the West Wing. Axios notes that the content will be “curated by a small team of around eight staffers” and that “the app’s founders expect early adoption to come from users [who] are right of center.”

Don Jr., a true bastion of reliable information, told Axios: “As I travel around the country, the complaint I hear more than almost anything else is that people don’t know what media outlets, journalists, or stories they can actually trust…. We created the MxM News app to help people cut through that clutter and get trustworthy news and information about topics that matter and impact their lives. We view it as an important public service and also believe it will be a great business.” Yes, it appears he was actually serious about that public service line. No, it’s not clear if he plans to actually use his own app or instead take a page from his father’s playbook and pretend it doesn’t exist.

Here’s how Twitter sees this news.

This is gospel truth. Science denial is deadly.

I’m dying to see if this “news aggregator site” ends up having any original content or just republishes Newsmax, Epoch Times, etc.

Twitter is rising to the occasion today. This is some good stuff in this thread.

Now here’s a news story you don’t see a lot of coverage on. Maybe Junior could lead with this.

And who’s going to run MXM, we wonder? Devin Nunes? Or, maybe Jim Jordan will resign from Congress and take the helm? it would not be surprising if he did. We’re all too numb at this point to be surprised by much of anything coming out of Trump world.

This is very curious. I can’t wait to see how MXM goes.

  1. Running around consulting his coke dealers isn’t a business plan. ” let it snow. Let it snow. Let it snow.”

  2. Donnie is creating MXM, whatever the fuck that is? Is it a news magazine for pedophiles and pedophile lovers? Now, that wouldn’t surprise me coming from the mind of a guy who is almost as smart as a battery-powered dildo, with apologies to the dildo. The next time he tries to kill something may his gun blow-up in his face. It might make an improvement.

  3. Someone needs to clue dimwit Jr. into a little fact: we already have a source for “stories you’re not going to see anyplace else”–we call it the fiction section of the LIBRARY. I guess he probably doesn’t know what that place is given his inability to display any sign he has even one iota of actual knowledge.
