DOJ Yanks Report On Political Violence That Shows RIGHT WING Is Main Culprit

We shouldn’t be surprised. For a guy who makes such a point of painting his ugly face orange Trump has been furiously working to WHITEWASH anything that’s critical of himself, or conservatives. And especially anything that suggests anyone or any conservative group is less that totally wholesome.  The truth of course is that this country has a long, and too often violent history of conservatives who are far more likely than liberals to kill people they disagree with. Someone must have told Trump about a report on the DOJ website detailing this ugly fact so you shouldn’t be surprised at what’s happened.

Yep, although both would hotly deny it Trump told AG Bondi to take that report down from the DOJ website and like a good little sycophant she did what she was told. According to this report from The (Raleigh) News and Observer Trump’s DOJ has removed a National Institute of Justice report that shows far-right extremists are far more likely to carry out ideologically motivated killings than any other group.  Pulling the report has sparked a backlash but given the current Trump/GOP effort to paint a picture of ‘left wing radicals’ being responsible for every killing in the country not nearly enough  .

The study study/report in question went back to 1990 to track hundreds of deaths tied to ideological based violence, comparing that by right-wing extremists to that of far-left extremists. That Team Trump has chosen to take down the report tells you what the facts are. The linked article too politely states “Critics warned that removing the report makes it harder for the public to understand domestic extremism.”  My take is that it proves the narrative being pushed by Trump and the GOP that left leaning groups (‘Antifa’ is now being talked about again) are and have always been the real problem is complete and utter bullshit:

The report “What NIJ Research Tells Us About Domestic Terrorism” cited 227 events and 520+ deaths from far-right individuals versus 42 attacks and 78 deaths by far-left extremists.

The report stated, “Since 1990, far-right extremists have committed far more ideologically motivated homicides than far-left or radical Islamist extremists.”

Those are the FACTS. Facts are like holy water sprinkled on a vampire to conservatives in general and facts that point out ugly truths about them are the equivalent of dropping a vampire in the middle of the desert at high noon and when it starts screaming hosing down with holy water! Of course Trump is doing what he does best which is LYING. Creating, with the help (and often frequent enthusiastic cooperation) from GOPers a picture of god ‘fearing’ (I always ask if God is a loving God and these self-professed Christians follow Jesus teachings why they should fear God?) good ole white, ‘Real Americans defending mom and apple pie Americanism from ‘crazy hateful LIBERALS. Here’s a question for a country overflowing with guns: Yes, liberals like me hunt and have at times lived in a place where we had a gun specific for home protection but how many liberals have effing arsenals?  That my friends is way, WAY more a conservative thing!

However the murder of Charlie Kirk has I fear given Trump a way to tamp down the the trouble the Epstein scandal has been giving him. He’s painting a picture and a false one and from where I sit getting away with it a lot more than  he should be.  Now we have this and once again we see Trump abusing his authority and directly interfering with the workings of what is supposed to be and until now an Independent DOJ. In a dangerous way.

As the linked article points out it makes it harder for the public to understand DOMESTIC extremism. Presidents have a megaphone and Trump is once again using it in the worst possible way. All while ordering an appalling DOJ action to make it harder for the public to see he’s lying and the DOJ’s mealy-mouthed statement is complete and utter bullshit:

The DOJ’s Office of Justice Programs stated, “The Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs is currently reviewing its websites and materials in accordance with recent Executive Orders and related guidance. During this review, some pages and publications will be unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”

Bullshit. They are covering up the fact that Trump (and others) is flat-out lying about a serious and long-standing problem in this country.  And, while not talked about in the linked article the FBI has been shifting agents who used to be tasked with working on this problem with other things. Like immigration for example. Not only are we less safe, the administration is actively hiding the facts about the scope of the problem and who’s responsible. However, to paraphrase founding father John Adams ‘Facts…Are stubborn things.’ They remain true whether you acknowledge them or not.

So I ask anyone who’s given me the privilege of their time by reading this to burn the facts that USED to be cited on the DOJ website about who is responsible for ideological/political murders and violence in this country to burn these FACTS into your memory.
