Someone is unhappy with SCOTUS. Awwwwww. His case isn’t going the way he wants. So, he cuts his appearance short and leaves, then rants and cries about it. There is no pity for him. SCOTUS is occasionally their own people, not Trump sycophants, and he can’t stand it. He has ridiculous fits over the stupidest things. He wants a white country, and he’s not going to get it. Not long after having attended the Supreme Court hearing to hear oral arguments on the legality of ending birthright citizenship – becoming the first sitting president in history to do so – President Donald Trump took to social media Wednesday to lash out at the longstanding and constitutionally enshrined right, and with a claim that was blatantly false.
Yep, he’s divorced from reality. The right has been in the Constitution for almost forever. Does he somehow think it will affect voting for people against him? Ending this would mean a whole lot of people, including “his”, won’t be able to vote. Heck, he wouldn’t be a citizen now. Does he realize that? It’s incomprehensible. What exactly is the big deal?
“We are the only Country in the World STUPID enough to allow ‘Birthright’ Citizenship!” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social, just as oral arguments in the Supreme Court hearing had ended. Despite Trump’s claim, birthright citizenship exists in dozens of countries, including the United States’ neighbors, Canada and Mexico. In the United States, birthright citizenship was enshrined as a right in 1868 through the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
I went and searched for Trump’s reasoning to end birthright citizenship, and the only general thing I found was for children of illegal immigrants at the time they are born. If the child has citizenship, and the parents don’t, that’s a whole other mess. If the parents are illegal, should the child be too? This is one hail of a knot to untangle. It’s a situation with no good answer. There are concerns that illegals are “gaming the system” to get citizenship because their child is a citizen. Trump is using the system against a few who *may* have done so, when the vast majority have not. He’s trying to twist it.
Trump has long sought to eliminate birthright citizenship in the United States, signing an executive order on his first day back in office last year to challenge the longstanding precedent.
Okay, I need to do something about my memory, because I do not remember this starting his first day in office. It certainly is Trump. There’s no doubt about that. It’s typical. This all boils down to him wanting to make changes to benefit himself and crush others. And the ego that insists everyone must do what it wants. We’ve already lost a *lot*. This is nebulous. Everyone has an opinion. Some are nicer than others. He needs to shut up and let people go on with their lives. It’s frustrating that he won’t.
