I stuck the adjective “horrific” in the title because that seems to have become the MSM’s favorite word choice when it is time for most outlets to describe President Biden’s debate performance. I get it, the first fifteen minutes or so of the CNN farce were pretty bad for Joe, who had to contend not only with the inveterate lying sack of Trump’s fire hose of untruths which were allowed to go unchecked by the so called debate “moderators”, but also a bad cold which left his voice a bit froggy. Despite the bad start though, the President fought back gamely and by the end of the debate was holding his own.
Seems that many voters admired his combativeness:

And I wouldn’t be overly concerned about that Pennsylvania result that seems like a likely outlier to me. Here is what Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman had to say – addressing reports that some electeds in the party were abandoning the President – later on in the piece:
“My money’s on the guy that kicked [Trump’s] ass in 2020, and and now I want to be clear that it’s going to be close. It’s always going to be close. It was close in 2016. It was close in 2020 and ‘24 it’s going to be close in 2024,” he said.
“Donald Trump is back, and what do Democrats do? We panic and piss our pants. After a bad debate and after 34 convictions — felonies — the Republicans show up and they dress like him and go all in on Trump.
“Maybe we could learn something here and just say, ‘Stand by our president through this.’ After 50 years [of public service by Biden], and after almost four years as a great president, I think he’s entitled to make his case after a debate that we can all agree was rough. But I know what that’s like. I am not the sum total of a bad debate, and certainly the President isn’t either,” he added.”
Fetterman should know from bad debates, he notched his own poor performance against Dr. Oz in the 2020 Pennsylvania Senatorial Debates before going on to kick ass in the General election.
And it’s not just voters as a whole, Biden is holding his own with his own party members too…

The finish line is still a long way off and I’m sure there will be more challenges along the way, but he has withstood the terrible media onslaught so far, and this just might be the worst of it.
We can hope so, anyway.
But no matter what comes going forward, this reporter will stand by his President every step of the race.

On daily kos there is an article that the NYT did 192 articles on Biden after the debate and only 6 ON THE 2025 PLAN TO BRING FASCISM TO AMERICA. They also DIDN’T CALL OUT TRUMP’S lies, in which he told HUNDREDS!!!! Time to stick with the truth and not be the German people of the 30s, manipulated into a soulless, heartless dictatorship. You mentioned something that’s been ignored – that as the debate went on President Biden got more effective. Not knowing beforehand he had been dealing with a cold all week, the next morning I got to thinking about an issue he has because I have the same one. For well over ten years (I’m almost 67) I’ve had a “dry cough” – every so often I cough and sometimes wind up with a (very) small amount of phlegm. Think how often you’ve seen Biden stop while talking and have a quick cough. Think about others you see it happen with too. My thought was that his prep team was worried he’d “look bad” if he coughed multiple times – the media has a habit of finding some type of nonsense like this and blowing it up into a BFD. So, Biden was convinced to take an antihistamine a few hour before the debate to minimize this chronic but ONLY annoying (to those of us who have it) condition. Unfortunately I happen to be one of many who don’t react well to antihistamines. I feel “high” when I’ve had them and am not myself, or so I’ve been told. Years ago I resolved than unless in the hospital no way I’d ever take one again. I got to thinking like me Biden reacts to an antihistamine the same way.
And that’s why he started off so badly but, he was at the point where it would start wearing off before the debate was over and that’s why he seemed more like himself at the end. Just a theory but it fits the facts.
Again however the fact the President improved in his performance as the debate went on is ignored by the media and too many Democrats.
Methinks those democratic pols asking him to drop out and surrender the 🇺🇸 to a loser… need to buck up. Folks are entitled to their opinion… even the Disney “princess” ( I am sure your money will prove useful 🤷🏽♂️ after November). The chaos and fear …. President Biden’s mental and physical health are excellent. Something that cannot be said about THE CONVICTED FELON! As far as I am concerned, anyone who falls for the MAGApublican propagandaneeds to wake up and smell the truth!
