DeSantis Takes His First ‘Shot Across The Bow.’ And Takes On Water. Rough Seas Ahead

Oh good Lord. If this opening salvo is anything accurate to go by, then Florida Governor Ron DeSantis may as well just fold up his 2024 tent right now, and go back to hectoring the local minorities without the power to oppose him. Because looking at this, he’s pure SNL, a not ready for prime time player.

As the media hype about impending GOP challengers has hit high gear, Trump is doing what Trump does best. Pre-emptive strikes. He took a quick cheap shot at potential opponent Nikki Haley, calling her an ungrateful power grabber. But then he took to his pathetic platform, Bullshit Social, and took a potshot at Pissantis;

He’s a pathetic, RINO globalist!

Ouch? I mean, really? For FrankenTrump that kind of a post is the equivalent of knocking a chip off of somebody’s shoulder. He didn’t really even touch him. But it was a swipe, and for a puny runt like DeSantis, it had to be answered, and forcefully.

And answer DeSantis did. And his brutal, Mortal Kombat 3 takedown? Without even referring to Trump by name, Pissantis tweeted out that unlike some recent GOP candidates, DeSantis managed to get reelected in a landslide when he was up for reelection in 2022.

Really?! That’s it?! I’ve been swimming in Trump’s toxic political slough for 7 long goddamned years now, and when I read that lame ass shit, I immediately know what Traitor Tot’s reaction would be. He’s sitting around Mar-A-Lago and smiling like the Cheshire Cat. Because now he knows what he’s dealing with, and it’s a total wimp! 

Apparently Pissantis has been so self obsessed in planning his victorious road to the GOP coronation that he hasn’t paid the slightest bit of attention to what’s been going in the rest of the country outside of Florida. Because otherwise, he never would have sent out such a stupid and pathetic tweet in the first place.

Here’s why. It’s obvious that DeSantis’s tweet was meant to brand Trump to his base as a loser, since he got clocked in 2020, while DeSantis cruised in 2022. News Flash!, Dipshit! Even before the final election results were tabulated, Traitor Tot was already screaming and yelling about The Big Steal! The Trumpster Fire has spent 2+ years indoctrinating his sheeple that he didn’t lose the election, it was stolen. And that pathetic, wimpy tweet isn’t going to change mind one in Trump’s slobbering base.

Right now Trump has to feel that he flat out owns DeSantis. It’s like an alley fighter going up against the Debate Team Captain. To draw a contrast, I’ll insert one of my favorite old jokes. How do you know when there’s an Irishman at a cock fight? He brings a duck. Sweet Jesus, DeSantis wants to become the most powerful man in the free world, but he is so subservient that he doesn’t even have the balls to name Trump in a bitchslap tweet?

I have written previously about the similarities of DeSantis to Wisconsin GOP Governor Scott Scooter walker. And I stand by my evaluation. Both Walker and DeSantis were/are successful GOP Governors in swing states. They were both prolific in state fundraisers. But they both lacked the same thing.

Seasoning. For all of his prolific fundraising in Wisconsin, Walker was a miserable failure at national fundraising. And worse yet, when in Trump’s gunsights, he wilted like a wallflower under the national spotlight. He just didn’t have the political chops to go up against the big boys. He was the first to fold, and advised the GOP to unite behind one mainstream candidate to take Trump on in the primaries.

And if DeSantis’s initial response to Trump’s opening salvo is anything to go by, he doesn’t have it either. It takes a rare political persona for a state Governor to rise to national prominence. And like him or not, former New Jersey Governor Krispy Kreme Christie had that persona.

A former US Attorney in New Jersey that successfully put Jared Kushner’s father in prison, Christie was an old fashioned, bare knuckle brawler. A brash, outspoken, sarcastic, no bullshit politician, Christie loved nothing more than getting into the occasional alley fight with the media. But he also did the right thing. He nominated the first Muslim judge to the NJ Supreme Court, and angrily slapped down the right GOP haters that dared to oppose him.

But even a seasoned, career, gut punching warrior like Christie couldn’t stand up under Trump’s assault. Oh, he tried. In the debates he showered scorn and derision down on Traitor Tot, but since he was never quite willing to bring up a hand, grab the nuts, and twist, Trump made short work of him. Christie became an early drop out, and humiliated his beloved wife Mary Pat by becoming a Trump supporter, dreaming of an Attorney General slot in the Trump administration. But blood is thicker than water, and Jared Kushner quickly splashed cold water all over that dream.

The tail of Chris Christie is a cautionary tale for whom ever chooses to jump into the 2024 GOP presidential mosh pit. If you’re going to go up against Trump, you had better pack a lunch and bring a friend. Because when it comes to this kind of a life-and-death struggle, Trump has two inherent advantages. First, Trump is an obsessive narcissistic sociopath, nothing touches him. And second, he has no shame, no conscience, and no moral compass. For Trump, winning is everything. And if you’re not willing to debase yourself personally to get down to his level, then you may just as well stay home. Because that’s today’s GOP.
