A healthy imagination is a wonderful thing but self-delusion is something else altogether. Donald Trump is now telling reporters he thinks he’s out of the woods regarding Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s investigation into the Stormy Daniels hush money payments.
That’s what Trump told reporters aboard his plane following his rally in Waco, Texas Saturday, Mediaite reports, citing Axios. The ex-president actually even claimed the investigation was already over.
“I think they’ve already dropped the case,” Trump said as he jetted home from the rally. “It’s a fake case. Some fake cases, they have absolutely nothing.”
But that’s sure not what Trump was saying on Truth Social on Sunday.
“They have absolutely no case. The only witnesses are against their so-called ‘star’ witness, a serial liar, convicted felon, and disbarred lawyer,” Trump fumed in an obvious reference to his former attorney Michael Cohen. “I did nothing wrong, and they know it. This, and everything else that they are doing with the DOJ-led Witch Hunt (which seems to be his favorite phrase) is all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE,” their new and ‘highly sophisticated’ method of cheating on Elections!”
But The New York Post reported:
“A spokesperson for Bragg, a Democrat, declined to comment Sunday on Trump’s remarks but pointed to an unrelated Saturday statement that referred to the Daniels hush money probe as ‘an ongoing matter.”
This is just Trump believing his own fantasies again. And he recently blew one big prediction related to Bragg’s investigation. He’d predicted last Sunday that he’d BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY!” But that was a big NOPE. Tuesday came and went, and of course, I was hoping he would be indicted.
I’m getting used to disappointment, however.
The grand jury is expected to reconvene Monday.
But isn’t that how it’s supposed to work?

It helps if the one doing the threatening is a highly placed mobster or capable of doing the dirty deed himself. Trump.may behave like a mobster but he lacks the ruthlessness to do his own killing and the intelligence to run a criminal empire –and the taste to wear good suits,as Gotti did.
