This guy makes me retch. I can’t understand him, which is something for me, and fortunately, very rare. But to do something again that you were jailed for? Give me a break. Let’s have a hopefully quick opinion on him. From AlterNet:
Ryan Nichols Sr., a man who was convicted for his actions during the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol and later pardoned by President Donald Trump, posted on the social platform X on Sunday, expressing no regret for his involvement. “And I’d do it again given the same situation,” Nichols wrote. “They attacked Americans and killed innocent protestors. We should have drug MFs through the streets.”
What the holy hell. He’s proud of his craziness. And he would do it AGAIN. What is it with this guy? He loves violence and will go crazy on people if he has the slightest excuse. He’s proud of himself and his actions. And Trump let this man back out of prison. All those pardons were a big damn mistake. And some of those he pardoned are already back in jail!
But it’s people like this that are screwing up our country and don’t care. You have the Proud Boys and the Oathkeepers. You know *they* would just want an excuse. Members of both groups were pardoned and are back out in the streets. If there is something they can do to help Trump, they’ll act with no hesitation. And these are just the ones we know about! Are there others?
Nichols, a former Marine from Texas, was sentenced in 2023 after pleading guilty to felony obstruction of an official proceeding and assaulting law enforcement with chemical spray. He was seen on video using pepper spray on officers and encouraging others to push forward during the riot. Prosecutors cited his own words from a video recorded later, in which he said, “Ryan Nichols stands for violence.”
Stands for violence. He doesn’t have an off switch. He *wants* violence. Why? What’s the point, especially if he ends up in jail again! Well, that’s what he is. I’m almost willing to bet that there are more individuals just like him who are *not* associated with a group like the Proud Boys or Oathkeepers. So we have solo trouble to add in. Oh, and don’t forget the new-Nazis, either.
In January, Trump issued pardons to hundreds of people charged or convicted in connection with the Capitol riot. Nichols was among them. The decision was widely criticized by legal experts and former officials, who said it could undermine public trust in the rule of law. Xitter noticed.
New York Times reporter Talmon Smith reacted to his post and wrote: “Jan 6 attacker that trump pardoned on this sunday morning: ‘I’d do it again given the same situation….We should have drug MF’s through the streets.’ What are we doing here[?]” //// Writer Matt Herdman said, “To be clear: Trump pardoned people like Ryan Nichols so that he can do a second J6 if necessary in 2029
It’s about telling his shock troops that he’ll make sure they face no punishment for another coup attempt.” //// Hugo Lowell, a White House correspondent for the Guardian, wrote: “Jan. 6 rioter pardoned by Trump says he would storm Congress again and that they should’ve dragged police officers through the streets. Trump really pardoned some psychos.”
Indeed, he did. But Trump is kind of psycho himself. Just look at what he’s said over the past couple of weeks, and you may agree. Hell, it was psycho to incite a riot and then pardon them. But I digress. Maybe it’s mostly from his slide into dementia. Who knows. And we have a man on the streets who is all about violence because of Trump. Yay?
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. I don’t think dementia is part of tRump’s ruthlessness. Someone said about him in the past, I think it was Roy Cohn, that he has ice water in his veins. My guess is that this was always part of his makeup.
