It is as likely as any other possibility that Joe Biden is currently dying of cancer at the end of a 50-year career in Washington. Hardly a retirement to enjoy – and he tried to re-up in the White House, originally. If there was ever a guy with the longevity and cred to take a victory lap, it would be Joe, the guy for whom Lindsey Graham shed a tear in what was – ironically – one of Lindsey’s best moments. Additionally, at the present time, Donald Trump is president, and there’s fck all that we or Joe Biden can do about it. It is therefore utterly mystifying as to why it is that Trump still feels so threatened so as to need to attack the Bidens, especially now. In the same way that we cannot do a thing about the fact that Trump remains president, what. the. fck. does Trump have to gain by pounding the Bidens?
And yet he is now doing so again, only this time after a cancer diagnosis, and even after Trump put out an entirely respectful and dignified response. Trump originally wrote:
Donald Trump has posted a statement expressing sympathy for Joe Biden following the former president’s cancer diagnosis. Trump says he and Melania are “saddened” by the news and wish Biden a “fast and successful recovery.”
I am 100% ready to credit Trump for anything worthy of credit, and that short and appropriate statement is what we expect from presidents and yet it was a bit surprising in that we have come to expect the opposite from Trump. Fortunately, that statement hit the mark; anything more would have seemed “faked.” And yet now it all seems faked because Trump just made the statement below. Trump thinks someone is “lying” and thus there is a conspiracy afoot.
“I think that if you take a look, it’s the same doctor that said that I think somebody’s gonna have to speak to his doctor if it’s the same, or even if it’s two separate doctors. Why wasn’t the cognitive ability– why wasn’t that discussed?
The only thing discussed about Biden’s last year was his cognitive ability. Indeed, if Trump hadn’t made Dems and the Bidens so defensive, there may have been more open communication. But clearly Biden was well enough to run the country without coming to the brink of invading Canada or infuriating China – the country that makes all our shit. There’s that. There is also the fact that every accusation is a confession with Trump, and the very fact that he presumes there is some conspiracy afoot is enough to make me think, Hmmm. Does Trump alter facts that come out about him personally? I don’t know – I won’t make the accusation unless I do. And he’s the president of the United States FFS.
I think people should try and find out what happened because ultimately, I don’t know if it had anything to do with the hospital. Walter Reed is really good. They’re some of the best doctors I’ve ever seen. I don’t even know if they were involved.
What happened is that Joe Biden has cancer and the statement was just released. We can almost assume the cancer was growing as he was president but it sure seems unlikely that a man who has cancer growing rapidly in his prostate in a threatening manner would try to run again for president! Occam’s razor is just invaluable here.
But a doctor was involved in each case. Maybe it was the same doctor. And somebody is not telling the facts. It’s a big, that’s a big problem.”
Somebody not telling the facts is an accusation that someone somewhere is lying or Trump wouldn’t be left with his conclusion – something is wrong, according to Trump. He is saying someone is lying without pointing the finger at the Bidens themselves. ‘Least he can do. Quite literally, that’s the least he can do.
Ironic. The single biggest thing he can do is keep his mouth shut.

The original statement is probably a prepared”thoughts and prayers” taken off the shelf by a staffer. Above is the true statement: a cognitive weave/word salad mirroring his own state of mind and actions and the “normal” blame Biden invective. Methinks there is fright that he is losing his attack Biden crutch, fear that he may have to show public sympathy to Joe Biden and his family and recognition that even Presidents, himself included, are very mortal, Sic Transit Gloria
I’d bet my bottom dollar that first statement wasn’t written by Donald.

It seems that conspiracy theories are more attractive to DonOld than the plain unvarnished truth.
I wouldn’t dismiss Joe just yet, People have recovered from prostate cancer, including people with a Gleason score of 9 (and even 10) and metastasis. It is a cancer with more possible treatments than chemo and radiation – it eats hormones, so hormone therapy is a third possibility (not all cancers do.)
For this audience, I probably don’t need to add that one meaning of the word “aggressive” applied to cancer is “rapid.” This isn’t necessarily – in fact, likely isn’t – something that has been going on for a long time. It’s more likely something sudden.
