I fear for the profession of journalism. Think of what we are looking at in this day and age. The Washington Post continues to buy out the contracts of those who are left who don’t want to turn WaPo into Fox News Lite, and there is nothing but despair at the Los Angeles Times, same reason. Both are owned by billionaires who know nothing of journalism and who care even less about its role in democracy. Their purpose in owning media outlets is monetary and since Trump got back in office, placating their master. That is not speaking truth to power, that is not being the fourth estate. That’s being a group of bowing stenographers.
Another blow to journalistic integrity just got struck and this will have Stephen Miller and his cronies in the White House dancing a jig. Terry Moran, a senior national correspondent for ABC News, called out Stephen Miller for being a hatemonger and he offered insight into Trump as well. In this case the truth did not set him free, it got him suspended.
I think the man deserves a Pulitizer Prize for that. That’s one of the most accurate and succinct tweets that I’ve ever read since this shitshow started up in 2015. Kudos to Terry Moran for having the balls to speak the truth, but the people at ABC/Disney do not have the balls. They proved that when they rolled over and gave Trump $15 million to settle an easily won defamation case.
This is going to blow up. Just watch this. We are at a place now where if this isn’t the final straw, it’s the penultimate straw and the final straw will be reached soon. And this is going to help, too. Another outrage. King Donald has decreed that protestors in Los Angeles (and we presume elsewhere) can’t wear masks. ICE can, but not protestors.

And so we inch one step further to martial law. We are approaching living in a police state by leaps and bounds. But then we knew that on November 5. We knew things were going to get awful. We’re just now understanding the parameters. But be of good cheer. Trump is flailing and his billionaire buddies will always put their money on the winning horse, which for the moment is him, but that could change. We saw, just this last week, the biggest billionaire BFF of them all, Elon Musk, turn on Trump. Do not be surprised when Bezos or Soon-Shiong (owners of the Washington Post and Los Angeles Times, respectively) decide that their bread is buttered elsewhere.
We’re going to have a long and potentially bloody fight but I believe democracy will endure over this klown in the White House who spends all his time golfing.

Just today I saw a piece about the CEO of Porsche has said they have no plans to move production of their cars to the US. I suspect he intends to just wait Trump out and most likely the rest of the world will continue buying their cars. I can only hope more corporations and world leaders take this position.
the media has always supported Nixon until Watergate, and Vietnam war and Trump. this is not a surprise in fact this is what all main media does.
Moran nailed it. trump is an old man, vicious, decrepit and senile. The only this he has left is his hatred, and he reserves the most venom for people who are good, generous, patriotic and caring. He knows he is devoid of their qualities, so he projects his inadequacies on them, as if in an act of revenge. If you kill a person’s soul, this is what you get. He should never, ever have reached the position he holds. That he has is an indictment, not on him, but on the people who voted for him.
