I believe it was that good Republican Abraham Lincoln who said, “You can’t keep a catalogue of your lies.” He didn’t know the Trump family, and we envy him that.
Ivanka may want to keep a catalog, or maybe she ought to rehearse “the story” with other people at the White House who are being deposed by the January 6 Committee, so that they can all agree on exactly what the story is.
There was a big boo boo today when Ivanka’s chief of staff said something dead opposite of what Ivanka testified to earlier. Uh oh, spaghetti o’s. Perjury is not a good thing, especially perjury during a congressional hearing.

So what did Ivanka expect us to believe, that Trump was cool as a cucumber and calm as the grave? After he just incited a riot and people were getting maimed and killed in the Washington streets? It will be interesting to see if Princess Purses comes forward with an explanation for this. I tend to think her phone must be ringing right now.
Speaking of maimed, I found this a very touching portion of the hearing. Sgt. Aquilino Gonell was one of the Capitol Police officers who was injured that day. His injuries have now permanently disabled him from police work. The man’s career is ruined and he must find another. All because of Donald Trump.

It was like a medieval battleground. With our lives in peril, I would have been justified in using lethal force. But I didn’t want to spark a massacre. Over the course of the five-hour struggle, my hands were bloodied from being smashed by a stolen police baton. My right foot and left shoulder were so damaged that I needed multiple surgeries to repair them. My head was hit with such force with a pipe that I no doubt would have sustained brain damage if not for my helmet.
I have spent a year and a half in physical therapy for chronic pain that I have been told will never go away. My young son almost lost his father, and my wife had to quit medical school because of the stress and demands of my ongoing recovery.
After the riot, I received a Congressional Gold Medal and was recently named a Great Immigrant by the Carnegie Corporation. After recently passing the lieutenant’s test, I hoped to be promoted. Instead, on the day of Ms. Hutchinson’s testimony, I was heartbroken to hear my doctors tell me that at 43, I should no longer work with the police force.
The physical and emotional damage I sustained on Jan. 6 not only cut short my career; it has upended my life. Five of my colleagues in law enforcement died, and more than 850 rioters were arrested. So many families have been ruined because of one man’s lust for power.
Even more galling are the Republicans who still refuse to provide testimony under oath and instead dangerously downplay how close we came to losing our democracy. I applaud the courage of the witnesses who’ve come forward to tell the truth. I know from experience — I have given testimony several times about that day to Congress, to the F.B.I. and in court — how distressing it can be. I just wish we all had been able to testify sooner, right after Jan. 6, when we might have had more impact.
The enabling of Mr. Trump needs to stop now. He should not only be barred from running for any other government office; he should never be allowed near the White House again. I believe he betrayed his oath to defend the Constitution, and it was to the detriment of me, my colleagues and all Americans, whom he was supposed to protect.
This is the real world cost of one man’s lust for power. To Donald Trump and his family, this is all a TV show. Looking good is the only thing that is important. Seeing if you can sell a bill of goods to the public, in the pursuit of profit, is the only thing that matters.
The Trumps are sociopaths. If they weren’t, they would all do whatever humanly possible to redress the wrongs they caused. And they would step out of public life. But don’t hold your breath.
It sounded like the CofS was trying to paint a flattering portrait of Ivanka as peacemaker and she didn’t grab for that lifeline. I, personally, think they are both lying. The CofS looks very uncomfortable and her eyes are all over the place and Ivanka, w/that dead soul look of hers, isn’t capable of telling the truth.
I agree with you. I understand the CoS trying for the St. Ivanka narrative, but the problem with that is that Ivanka would have to go on record that Daddy was being less than perfect that day. And we can’t have that.
What a freaking mess. This is such a freak show, I expect Roger Stone to bite the head off a chicken next. It would not surprise me.
Barring diaper don from office is not enough. Not nearly. He and that worthless family of his needs to be put away for a very long time. Nothing less will be a fitting punishment for these criminals.

It’s totally sad what has all come out over the course of a year and a half now about what exactly are EX President was actually like but how many of way back started to say that even before the election that he was crazy something like this could happen and nobody believed us as unpredictable as he was some of his family knew that he needed to be stopped but he didn’t ever want to listen to anything people told him so what does he do start a riot and lies about knowing anything about it then lies about Cassidy Hutchinson as well I believe he you the word delusional about her well maybe he better take a look in a mirror as he is the one that is definitely delusional and needs to locked away from society and never be able to run for any public office again as if this was a normal human being they would have to spend time in prison well now he is no longer a president his punishment needs to fit the crime and to bad all you Trump supporters your King is Done for good and the world will be a much better place with out him and his close family in it anymore it’s time to take responsibility for your part in the riot things might go better if you tell them the truth that is if you can even remember what the whole truth really is anymore as so many lies have been told.
