We live in a world of fantasy — at least when our world intersects with Trump world. Today’s story is rather sobering. Laura Loomer, who is reportedly Donald Trump’s first choice for press secretary should he regain the White House, made up a story out of whole cloth, accusing Dawn Marie Engoron, wife of Judge Arthur Engoron, of making critical and mocking comments about Trump on her Twitter/X account. The only problem here is that Mrs. Engoron doesn’t have an X account. This is Loomer making up lies and Trump re-posting them for purposes of pure propaganda and money.

Laura Loomer is a conspiracy theorist par excellence. She chimed in about the “terrorist attack” on the Rainbow Bridge into Canada and claimed that an Iranian passport was found next to the car that exploded. Oh, she went clean off her rocker that day.
“The FBI is suspecting that the Car Bomb Explosion TERRORIST ATTACK at the Rainbow Bridge US-Canada border in Niagara Falls could have been heading directly to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NEW YORK CITY,” far-right influencer Laura Loomer tweeted on Wednesday.
“FBI and NYPD on extreme high alert and advising no travel to NEW YORK City. THEY ARE ALSO NOW LOOKING FOR A SECOND VEHICLE! STAY OUT OF NEW YORK CITY! AMERICA IS UNDER ATTACK BY ISLAMISTS AGAIN!” Loomer continued.
She no more spoke to the FBI that day about danger to the parade (or read any credible source who did) than I spoke to the Ghost Of Christmas Past about it. And I’ll tell you what, the odds are a lot higher of the Ghost Of Christmas Past showing up at PolitiZoom than of Loomer getting some big time scoop for real. This is who she is and what she does. She’s a fantasist and a fabulist. And Trump co-signs on it, literally and figuratively. He reposts her fables and he absolutely supports anytime she trashes his enemies. They are two middle schoolers, hell bent on the same demented purpose, to make everybody hate the people they hate.
Two thoughts: 1. The gag order is going to have to be expanded to include family members and even friends; 2. Some serious sanctions, beyond five or ten thousand dollar fines, are going to have to be levied. This situation, like all things Trumpian, is spiraling out of control.

I’m having trouble wrapping my head around our culture today. Slander and libel laws and therefore, norms used to be the guardrails for civil discourse and media reporting. Apparently they have been completely obliterated over the last 40 years or so beginning with Rush Limbaugh. So now we have this. JHC! Some days I’m literally glad I’m not long for this world. (no, I’m not sick, just old – and tired)
So, this loomer person lied and if it was a zitter post-she might have committed libel. If it was just her numbskull “news”cast it might be slander. I hope Ms. Engoron is speaking with an attorney. The best way to deal with idiots like loomer–sue her and the organization she works for if that is where the lie is being uttered. I noticed quite a turnaround by fux nuz when they were sued for their election lies.
It’s so funny to me that Loomer spends so much time writing fiction and posting it for the whole world to read FOR FREE when she could be getting paid for it by major publishers.
Stephen King spends a good deal of time on social media but he pretty much leaves all his fictional stuff for the books which people pay money to read (well, other than people who read in the library or hang out in the remaining book stores so desperate to have people in them they don’t really care if anyone actually buys anything).
