OK, this is completely out of control. If you’re a liberal, or anybody else with 12 functioning brain cells, you have spent decades snickering at the insane paranoid of the far right, who believe every word of it when their GOP politicians tell them that there are black Suburbans coning to take them away to FEMA camps, or take their guns. And if you’re a real pain in the ass, they send the black helicopters after you too!
Well, it turns out that the joke is on us! You remember all of those “unidentified” federal agents walking around the streets of Washington DC during the protests, setting up picket lines, and confronting protesters? You know, the ones with no identifying insignia’s or even name badges or service branch markings? MSNBC just played reporting from Portland, Oregon, on their affiliate, that the same agents, or other ones, are now wandering around Portland, targeting protesters.
As it was described, these federal puddle heads are cruising around Portland, especially at night, in unmarked nondescript dark colored vans and SUV’s. They confront peaceful protesters on the streets, and there have even been reports of these agents pulling protesters into their vehicles, and taking them off to interrogate them. One protester said that when he demanded his phone call for his lawyer, they immediately bundled him back into the van and took him back.
This is total and utter bullshit. If these are indeed agents of some federal agency, then our own government is engaging in domestic terrorism. They are targeting non violent protesters exercising their first amendment rights, with the express intent of scaring them off. And it must stop immediately.
Here’s why. When the federal Bureau of Land Management moved on the serial asshole Bundy family for illegal use of federal lands, far right militia groups flocked to Nevada to train long guns on federal officers from overpasses. They later took over a wildlife refuge in Oregon, and one was killed in a shootout. And when Trump ranted and raved about Mexican illegals flooding over the border, you had more roving bands of far right fucktards, driving around the border ready to confront anything that moved. What is to stop these mental midgets from getting together, and deputizing themselves to ride around, protecting and taking back the streets? Any idea of how easy it is to get your hands on unmarked black military style fatigues?
We already know who is in charge. Tubby the Ewok proudly claimed credit for forming and utilizing the groups in DC. With the coronavirus, there are very few if any actual court cases going on in the federal system. Speaker Pelosi needs to get the House back into session immediately to vote on freezing the budget for the Department of Justice until these shadow armies are permanently disbanded.
Because forget the roving bands of indie morons, here’s what happens next. A bunch of Barr’s Brownshirts jump out of a van in the night , grab a couple of protesters, and throw them in the van. A random cop car turning the corner witnesses the kidnapping, and the chase is on. With emotions running high, and adrenaline pumping, and everybody but the hostages being armed, what do you think the chances are of the confrontation ending without bloodshed?
Donald Trump has proven time and again for four years now that he never stops pushing. Until you push back. Mary Trump makes it clear that humiliation is the one emotion Trump will not allow. If Trump is pushed hard, and publicly, he will immediately back down, we have also seen this time and again. And as Colm Meany said on Con Air, This situation needs to get itself unfucked! Soonest!

Yes, it’s time to defund Barr. And maybe ise and any other groups involved.
Not just institutional norms have been broken and cast aside during the Trump era – so have actual laws. This latest example of unlawful arrest is the kind of thing that never winds up in court except in the most egregious cases since LE has such wide latitude to go about their business. Still, there has to be some kind of accountability that will at least force the federal agents who’ve gone along with this to have an “oh shit” moment or two. Then there’s the matter of multiple actual laws being broken by ICE starting with refusing to follow U.S. law on asylum and of course the family separations. People have died in ICE custody as a direct result of their agents ignoring not only the law but judicial orders issued since these despicable policies were enacted that are directly tied to the laws having been violated.
There are both civil rights and criminal cases galore, and all should be addressed by the courts and there should be particular emphasis on those who were high in the command structure that signed the policy directives that set these abuses in motion. What I’m driving at is that we need a process modeled on the Nuremburg model to haul these people up for the country and world to see and hold them legally accountable, even if in the end only civil penalties ensue. Many of the rank and file folks both at Nuremburg and in similar proceedings for abuses by the Japanese in the Pacific theater (which never gets the attention it should but they were just as bad as the SS and had their own versions of Mengele) is what I truly believe is needed. It’s worth bearing in mind that Nuremburg is credited for gutting the “I was just following orders” argument which is what many an ICE agent and counterparts in other agencies will no doubt claim. That shit don’t fly in military Courts Martial if troopers commit atrocities because orders to violate the Laws of Land Warfare (which everyone gets trained on) are illegal orders.
We need to rip this shit out from the root. Force each and every person who wears a federal badge or works in one of these agencies that their oath is to the Constitution and not any President or his/her political appointees. And that you goddamn well don’t take your marching orders and and guidance on how far you can go via fucking TWITTER!
In camo, these guys. And rented vehicles, some of them white, so they’re not conspicuous as “law enforcement”. ICE and CBP – they’re legally authorized within 100 miles of the border, including the coasts – that covers about 200 million people. And they got “temporary” federal marshal status last month, during the demonstrations in DC.
Ask what they *can’t* do legally.
WTF … this is DEAD WRONG shit, under what law and what conclusion is it OK to snatch people off their feet ANYWHERE ? Under what thin line of it’s OK to harass innocent citizens, exercising their right to demonstrate peacefully … and without badges, name tags and using brute force, unidentified terrorists is all they are by law. so if they do it again, and the protesters ask what their authority is and they want to talk to Barr immediately and what each of their names are so when they are called into a meeting with the Congressional over sight Committee, they won’t make a mistake and charge you with obeying an illegal order of harassment to demonstrations of their Constitutional rights …
An excellent time for bugs and hidden cameras … give them your phone and nothing else, let them think you cannot be recording them because they seized your phone … they sure as hell, can’t legally arrest you without proper ID’s and
this whole mess stinks so loudly of Trump and Barr, and if they brandish weapons, and start slugging people with batons and shields like they did for Trump’s bible photo op, all bets are off. the local cops need to respond by carting them off to a local classifying office, mug shots and finger prints, seize their weapons, let them sit and wait for Barr to show up, and when he does, arrest his ass for actions against citizen’s doing the right thing under our much abused Constitution …
Many years ago we shared a house with a guy that had gotten off easy on a drug charge. The cops hated him for this. He was under surveillance by the state bureau of investigation. A white van would park across the street from us at night. These same people worked upstairs from where my wife worked. She had a state job. They took her upstairs one day and threatened her if she didn’t set this roommate up. She told them the truth that she had not seen him doing anything and would not go along with the sting. Cops are not your friend. We have lived in a police state for a very long time. It is time for a change.
