NO one, absolutely no one, has been more supportive or closer to Donald Trump than Lou Dobbs. Lou Dobbs makes Mike Huckabee look like Nancy Pelosi when it comes to kissing Trump’s ass. Dobbs is the one who once famously said, from Time Mag in 2019:
“Have a great weekend. The President makes such a thing possible for us all.”
If I recall correctly, I had a sh*tty weekend on that date (because I worked every weekend all weekend), so the “possible for us all” was a bit extreme… God, it was like Dobbs was dreaming of a weekend on a beach with Trump.
The point is Lou Dobbs did not just think that Donald Trump was the greatest president of all time. Lou was one of the ones willing to do whatever Trump needed. He was “Steve Bannon-Like” only with a semi-respectable past, lost when he fell into the cult.
Now, Lou Dobbs is furious that Trump is opposing the 20 or so Reps that are “standing up” to the uniparty (as they call it), or what they see as a RINO-type in McCarthy. Except Trump is FOR McCarthy. Why wouldn’t Trump be? He has McCarthy’s balls in a jar kept in a shed near the pool at Mar-a-Lago.
But Lou?

I would’ve been less surprised had I woken up and heard that Nancy Pelosi was supporting Kevin McCarthy (as sort of the moderate).
It is enough to remind someone of the famous scene from Ghostbusters, “Disaster of biblical proportions, dogs and cats, living together, mass hysteria, Lou Dobbs calling out Trump as a RINO!!!!!”
Today is going to be insane.

It got interesting right off the bat. It seems McCarty wanted to start the day with a motion to adjourn so he’d have another day to try and rally support. Or pressure the holdouts or buy them off in some way. Sadly for him Hakeem Jeffries’ statement that Democrats weren’t going to bail the GOP out of their own mess was for real. He had all the Democrats on the floor, while the GOP had a bunch of their absent because of the anticipated recess (until tomorrow). Democrats in other words came prepared to force the GOP to continue their circular firing squad in front of the whole country.
So, while the GOP members-elect not present were frantically contacted to get their asses to the House Chamber we endured a lengthy nominating speech to make sure anyone not able to make it back for the Quorum Call were able to get there! The other interesting thing is a new name, NOT Gym Jordan was nominated as the opposition candidate, and so far (the vote is well along) every Republican who voted against McCarthy yesterday is now voting for Donalds (FL) and he’s hit 20 votes. The only question at this point is will he (Donalds) will pick up an additional vote or two and signal more erosion in McCarthy’s support.
