Lauren Boebert is headed towards the end of her career and guess what? She is blaming everybody but herself. She was on the air at a Denver radio station on Monday and her problems have nothing to do with her is the takeaway. She’s a victim across the boards. First she griped, “You can’t even go to the theater.” Wrong, Lauren. You can go to the theater any time you want. That’s not the issue. The issue is going to the theater and treating it like it’s your living room.
Your date and you should not have been groping one another and vaping, let alone singing and photographing when the rules of the theater were clearly laid out that those things were prohibited — probably not the groping part. It was probably presumed on the part of theater management that they didn’t need to specify that behavior was prohibited, but maybe now they’ll change their rules, knowing that there are people like you in the world who don’t know how to conduct themselves in public.
And then of course Bobo got cocky and lied about the entire thing, and that’s what made the local press see if there was surveillance footage and then her goose was cooked.
She initially denied it, with her spokesperson issuing the statement: “I can confirm the stunning and salacious rumors: in her personal time, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is indeed a supporter of the performing arts (gasp!) and, to the dismay of a select few, enthusiastically enjoyed a weekend performance of ‘Beetlejuice.’”
Now she makes a joke about it on the campaign trail but even in the year 2024, people are not forgiving of an elected public official acting like trash in a theater and then lying about it. Boebert would not back down — a lesson she learned from Lara Trump, apparently. She was politely asked to cease and desist and she smarted back that she was “A member of the board” (of the Denver Performing Arts) and that she would “talk to the mayor.” Please do. Mike Johnston’s a Democrat, he’d love to hear from you, was what I said at the time.
And then Bobo lit into Ken Buck.
“Ken Buck is, so irrelevant and such an embarrassment to Colorado,” she said.
“You know, people ask me about Ken Buck as well, and mostly it’s, why does he hate America?”
Buck was asked a few days ago about Boebert’s accusations that he is leaving Congress to spite her, personally.
“It’s ridiculous,” Buck, a Windsor Republican, told The Colorado Sun.
Boebert said in a written statement after Buck announced Tuesday that he would leave Congress on March 22 that the five-term congressman’s resignation was a “gift to the uniparty” and “a swampy backroom deal to try to rig an election.” Republicans aligned with Donald Trump often use the “uniparty” label to insult members of the party they think aren’t conservative enough or work too closely with Democrats.
The Republican congresswoman has also tried to fundraise off her claim about Buck, telling supporters to not “let the uniparty rig this race.
My my what an echo we hear. Sounds just like Donald Trump, her mentor and idol, does it not?
Buck called it “fundamentally unfair” for Boebert to try to raise money on the notion he is taking sides in the 4th District race.
“I’m not giving anybody an advantage or disadvantage,” he said, noting that he’s refrained from commenting when reporters have asked him recently about the arrest of Boebert’s ex-husband and 18-year-old son. “I have done my very best to stay out of this primary election.”
Buck, who hasn’t endorsed a successor, said the timing of his announcement and resignation date stemmed solely from his growing frustration with Congress’ inaction and his desire to advocate for election reforms to improve the caliber of candidates running for office up and down the ballot.
If Buck is successful and the caliber of candidates is improved up and down the ballot, Boebert will be out in the cold. She’s a photogenic moron who preaches the fundie gospel and trolls the left on Twitter, but even the fundies have had it with her after her lewd public behavior. Wearing a dress so tight and low cut that your breast implants are visible from outer space and flipping the bird at a theater usher as he escorts you from the premises is not Xian behavior.
There is one person responsible for Boebert’s downfall and that is she. Nobody else. Until she comes to grips with this key fact she’s hopeless. And this is one reason her kid is already in trouble with the law. He hears rationalizations for behavior and for why things happen and not a code of proper behavior, starting with responsibility. This is especially comical coming from somebody who represents the Party Of Personal Responsibility, those hard working Republicans who know the rest of us are lazy bums just looking to get a welfare check.
Mark your calendars for June 25. Bobo is running in the primary and the special election is also being held. The last poll had her running at third. Maybe she’ll be out of politics in January. The way she’s whining and sitting on the pity pot, she knows the end is coming.

Bless her heart.
I am, of course, sending her my thoughts and prayers.
Ken Buck doesn’t hate America Bobo. Just YOU!
I do not know why Mr. Buck is not endorsing a candidate. He should if he cares about his district’s representation. It isn’t as if it’s against the law or even against political norms.
Maybe Buck’s decision not to endorse a candidate is his subtle way of saying they’re all equally bad. Or, he could be implying that they’re all worthy–except for Bobo, of course, but he just doesn’t want Bobo to think he’s being “vindictive” against her.
There is a more practical reason, though, for not endorsing anyone. The special election is meaningless since that candidate will only be serving till January at the latest (or they could resign after the general election winner’s been certified in November) and with so many people running in the primary, an endorsement doesn’t guarantee your candidate will win outright (or even make a run-off) and if the endorsed person doesn’t win (or even advance to the run-off), then you’ve basically ended whatever post-political “kingmaker” status you might have hoped for.
