Unsurprisingly, Lauren Boebert does even her divorce in an oddball way. The eccentric is the norm for her. This time, the Colorado Sun is reporting that the Boebert divorce, which was finalized three days ago, was not without drama. In the first place, who brings their grandchild to a divorce proceeding? Between the two Boeberts, they couldn’t afford a babysitter for a few hours? Both of the baby’s parents and the other set of grandparents couldn’t pitch in? Something doesn’t pass the smell test here.

In any event, the grandson probably won’t remember it, but he fussed and wailed when Grandma and Grandpa were busy yelling at each other behind closed doors before the public portion of the dissolution proceeding commenced. Oh, to have a transcript of that.

The public portion of the dissolution of marriage hearing was over in minutes, but that came after nearly 40 minutes of negotiations behind closed doors when shouting between the Boeberts, and a baby crying, could be heard through the locked door of the courtroom.

The public part of the uncontested divorce hearing was calm by comparison. Rep. Boebert’s attorney, Annie Le Fleur, said the Boeberts had agreed that the marriage was “irretrievably broken.”  Le Fleur also told Mesa County Magistrate Katherine Barnes that her client agreed to forgo child support. Rep. Boebert could have received $1,833.43 a month under the formula the court uses in divorces. […]

Jayson Boebert appeared without representation. While Lauren Boebert rocked the baby in her arms, her soon to be ex-husband leaned emotionally over the defendant’s table, squeezing his eyes shut, as the magistrate declared that the marriage was dissolved.

Before they left the courtroom, Le Fleur told Jayson Boebert, “You need your grandson.” Lauren Boebert, 36, started to hand the baby over before saying that she would carry him out.

The Boeberts had entered the courtroom separately — Lauren Boebert striding in with the baby and giving the small gathering of reporters and photographers angry looks. Jayson Boebert walked in about 10 minutes later, scowling in a pair of dark sunglasses.

They left the courtroom together with a sheriff’s deputy escorting them. They left in the same black SUV with the grandson in a backseat baby carrier after Jayson Boebert accosted a Daily Mail reporter who was shouting questions at Lauren Boebert. Jayson Boebert marched up to the reporter who was using his phone to record video and stuck his tongue on the lens on his phone.

At least it was his tongue and not another portion of his anatomy. Jayson does whip that one out when he wants to make a public scene, as we all know. Jayson took out his frustrations on the reporter from the Daily Mail, but the fact is that outlet wouldn’t have been there but for Jayson’s bimbo wife making a public spectacle of herself at a performance of Beetlejuice in Denver. The Daily Mail flew in a crew from Los Angeles and Business Insider also sent a reporter. There most likely would not have been that much fanfare had Lauren Boebert not called attention to herself in the manner that she did. But it’s never their fault, right? It’s all the reporters’ fault, for having the audacity to chronicle their misbehavior.

The Boeberts came and left together in the same SUV, with the grandkid, but they entered court separately, Jayson trailing Lauren by ten minutes. I wonder what that’s about? Again, I’ve seen plenty of couples divorce, God knows, but I’ve never seen them show up and leave together and definitely not with a child or a grandchild in tow. I can only assume the kid is a prop in a photo op. It makes no sense as anything else.

And the shouting behind closed doors is unusual, on these facts. You would think they’d have done all the shouting they needed to on the way to court, no?

That may not make sense but this certainly does:

The [Beetlejuice] incident at the Buell hasn’t helped her standing in the next election. After the images from the theater fueled headlines far beyond the 3rd District boundaries, some high-profile Republicans began rescinding their previous support for her. Mesa County commissioners Cody Davis and Bobbie Daniel announced recently that they are supporting GOP primary challenger Jeff Hurd, a Grand Junction attorney who is in his first political race. Delta County Commissioner Don Suppes joined them in supporting Hurd this week.

Boebert is also facing GOP primary challengers Russ Andrews, a financial advisor from Carbondale, and Curtis McCrackin, a real estate and construction professional from Delta. On the Democratic side, Frisch is challenging her again and has been outraising her in campaign contributions. Grand Junction Mayor Anna Stout also threw her hat in the ring in August; and former construction worker Adam Withrow from Pueblo is running.

That’s a lot of opposition. I don’t know how many people will end up on the ballot but it looks like Bobo is toast. She has Cawthorned herself. The name Cawthorn as an adjective has been applied to Matt Gaetz, whose antics in toppling Kevin McCarthy have given rise to Republicans dishing the dirt about him. In this case, Boebert has given her opponents all the negative publicity they would ever need and then some.

Boebert is the female Madison Cawthorn in every way. Both are good looking, stupid, uneducated, immature, endowed with a monolithic sense of entitlement and utterly lacking in self control and judgement. Both were given incredible breaks, getting into a collapsing GOP and riding Donald Trump’s coattails into a congressional seat and both have squandered those opportunities. Cawthorn is gone and good riddance. And Bobo can’t be gone fast enough.

As is my custom, once again and until the day this woman stops disgracing my home state of Colorado, here’s the link to Adam Frisch’s website to donate.

Help keep the site running, consider supporting.

  1. Hey Elvira…there’s a aluminum pole waiting for you somewhere in your home state. Drunken cowboys and cowboy wannabes will pay cash money for a few minutes of your time.

    • I honestly thought that her next career would be as an evangelical wingnut on TV. But she blew that with the Beetlejuice display. So I don’t know what her next career with be. But her career as MAGA mascot seems to winding down. Unless I am mistaken, she’s now the understudy in Congress and Nancy Mace has the lead. Watch for Nancy and Marge to be the new dynamic duo.

  2. She is not good looking to me. BoBo looks like a stupid person with a nice body. Her face is disturbing. Of course I really don’t care how she looks except I keep hearing how pretty she is. All female Democrats are beautiful in my eyes, few Republicans. That is my non-objective opinion.

    • Again, this is one of those things where beauty is in the eye. Bobo is often compared to Sarah Palin and the comparison is accurate. Palin and Boebert are very photogenic. The camera loves some people and most of us it does not. That’s just a fact of life. And it’s not all about looks, even. I remember that a guy in video class in college was incredible on camera. He was just a normal looking guy but on camera he had presence. Nobody else in the class came across on camera like he did.

I also worked on a B-movie with Vanna White, back in 1980. She was gorgeous then (this was a few years before she got on Wheel Of Fortune) but beyond that, she had that “x” factor, that “it” that the camera loves. Boebert is like Trump. She can do TV. Other than that, she doesn’t know shit and she isn’t worth a shit. But she can do TV.

  3. Too bad pizza gaetz hasn’t been fully cawthroned yet. The sooner congress is rid of that embarrassment, the better. Still, there are many in congress to take the places of these gnats.

    • Gaetz is now lashing back at Markwayne Mullins. I may have to do a piece on that. I wonder if Bobo and Gaetz are still on good terms. She voted to keep McCarthy so I would venture to say no.
