There is going to be some holy hell to pay for this, mark my words. Trump world is not hitting on all cylinders, meaning that their scams are not coordinated. Scott Bessent is considered one of the more credible figures in the Trump administration (at least until this past week when he said that Trump was “the most economically sophisticated president for the past 100 years, maybe in all of history.”) That comment got people wondering why his nose wasn’t about a foot longer and if his brain synapses had stopped firing altogether. Toadying is toadying but even it has its limits.

In any event, Trump’s Treasury Secretary just exposed his boss to be a liar on one of the Sunday shows. That’s nothing new where Trump is concerned, but we have learned to expect Bessent, of all people, to build Trump up. And in this clip he does just the opposite. Working for the Resistance, Scott?

It can’t be both. They can’t be calling and “kissing his ass” and simultaneously “never contacting” the United States. So who are we to believe, Trump or Bessent? And even with Bessent’s recent comments marking him as a gold-plated Trump sycophant, of course we’re going to believe Bessent.

We did not get 90 deals in 90 days. Catchy little slogan but nothing to it. It’s more like three deals in six months and even those are iffy. But these form letters with a figure stating what percentage of tariff Trump proposes to charge the American people under the guise of charging the country in question are a universal joke, leading to catastrophic predictions about the U.S. economy and the state of the dollar.

The End Times of something are definitely happening. Truth and common sense are two casualties we can name right now.

And make no mistake, the diplomats and heads of state know to treat Trump like a child.

According to Gérard Araud, who served as France’s ambassador during Trump’s first presidency the first rule is, “You never contradict Trump publicly, because he will lose face and that’s something that he can’t accept.”

He added that during Trump’s first presidency, the president was “insecure, he didn’t know the job. He hated to be patronized.”

Now he claims, “You should first be profusely grateful. You should really compliment the president. There is a sort of North Korean side in the White House. And you should let Trump really talk and talk.”

“A phone call with Trump. It’s a minimum 45 minutes, and you have at least 40 minutes of Trump,” he joked.

Suggesting visitors treat Trump like “a whimsical and unpredictable child,” he warned, “Trump’s the only one making decisions,” he added, “and he’s making decisions from the hip.”

This is the face we present to the world. We were once the greatest nation on earth. We cannot claim that title with somebody of this caliber in our highest office. Tragic but true.

  1. ““the most economically sophisticated president for the past 100 years, maybe in all of history.” — Pure snark. And Trump would never suspect it, since he believes it’s true. Maybe Bessent is getting tired of the whole charade.
