Mr. No Wars is just now beginning his meeting in the Situation Room, as I write. It began at 1:00 p.m. ET. Trump is all fired up and has been tweeting since the wee hours of the morning. The first thing he did was to take a shot at “publicity seeking” French President Emmanuel Macron. Macron made a bland comment about Trump going back to Washington to work on a cease fire, the kind of standard line one would utter in these circumstances, and Trump went apeshit.
“Publicity seeking President Emmanuel Macron, of France, mistakenly said that I left the G7 Summit, in Canada, to go back to D.C. to work on a “cease fire” between Israel and Iran. Wrong! He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire. Much bigger than that. Whether purposely or not, Emmanuel always gets it wrong. Stay Tuned!” This is how you tell the world you’re totally insecure without telling the world you’re totally insecure.
So that was the warm up and now we get to the more recent explosions.

Great idea to threaten to kill another head of state and demand UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER! before you sit down to negotiate, ne c’est pas? It sets the mood.
We’ll wait to hear what takes place in the situation room, but so far, what we can see, is that Trump is doing a theatrical bully play, assuming that one of the most powerful men in the Middle East is just going to roll over and be terrified. Khamenei will roll over alright, laughing. Trump’s MAGA theatrics, unfulfillable promises and tough guy persona play out well at home. He did manage to parlay them into winning the presidency twice. But now he’s dealing on a global scale and utterly out of his depth. And we used to think that Dubya was less than a genius? Eye eye eye eye eye.
You know Iran will retaliate on America.
If so, the regime will use that as a pretext to declare martial law and suspend habeas corpus. The number of Americans who may get killed is of no concern to him.
Imagine Trumpler accusing anyone else of “publicity seeking?” Macron, an actual President, offered Trump, an incompetent pretender, a pretext for scurrying away from the G7, tail betwixt legs, after making a total asshole of himself on Day 1. Macron suggested Trump had some important geopolitical business to attend to. Trump’s too stupid to realise that Macron was doing him an unasked favor. Bravo Donald: Emmanuel won’t bother doing it again.
Now would be the time for Congressional Democrats to demand Drumpf show his FULL medical reports following the “assassination” attempt on his life just last year, including the details of the surgery done to repair his “blown-off ear.” Not to mention about reminding him that a Minnesota state legislator was just assassinated over the weekend and he’s been *remarkably* silent on the issue which itself is amazing. I mean, something that Drumpf could legitimately take and make all about himself. Something along the lines of “I extend my sincerest sympathies to the families of the recent victims of the horrible, terrible, most bad assassination effort. I feel I really understand the horror as it was just (at this point, Drumpf would spend paragraphs on end recounting the hours after the attempt in Butler and how the Biden administration allowed it to happen and continue venting whatever other grievances he can fit into the post).”
(And, yes, I’m aware he wouldn’t mean anything–especially about “sincerest sympathies” since there’s nothing remotely sincere in anything Drumpf does.)
