Rep. Ted Yoho has no business in politics and thank God he says he’s not running for reelection And apparently the fact that he’s not seeking another term gives him a right to act like a rabid cur. Yoho accosted Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez on the steps of the House and called her a fucking bitch. This is not how ladies and gentlemen of Congress used to address one another. This is what goes on in Trump world. The Hill:

Rep. Ted Yoho (R-Fla.) was coming down the steps on the east side of the Capitol on Monday, having just voted, when he approached Ocasio-Cortez, who was ascending into the building to cast a vote of her own.

In a brief but heated exchange, which was overheard by a reporter, Yoho told Ocasio-Cortez she was “disgusting” for recently suggesting that poverty and unemployment are driving a spike in crime in New York City during the coronavirus pandemic.

“You are out of your freaking mind,” Yoho told her.

Ocasio-Cortez shot back, telling Yoho he was being “rude.”

The two then parted ways. Ocasio-Cortez headed into the building, while Yoho, joined by Rep. Roger Williams (R-Texas), began descending toward the House office buildings. A few steps down, Yoho offered a parting thought to no one in particular.

“Fucking bitch,” he said.

Republicans are profiles in courage, no question about that. And this was not an isolated incident in Congress today — incredibly. Liz Cheney was attacked by Matt Gaetz, and then the rest of the Forever Trump caucus piled on as well.

Two thoughts:

1. It amuses me that Republicans in the House are going after each other like rats in a burlap bag;

2. It distresses me greatly that there is an obvious gender issue going on here. These boys, and I do mean boys, are sick. This is alarming. What is the rationale for this, your party goes out of power and you lose your damn mind? Uhh, guys, you might check the history books. Parties are always going in and out of power, like the pendulum swings. That’s what democracy is all about.

As far as I’m concerned, Yoho can issue a formal apology to Ocasio-Cortez, on the floor of the House and Gaetz and the rest of them need to do the same to Liz Cheney — or face formal proceedings.

Man, they are losing their grip before the election. Maybe they all sense that they’re on their way out, in some kind of a group-mind, racial memory sort of a sense. As one, the biggest losers in the House know that they are not long for this profession.

I do not expect to see it get much better, but I sincerely hope that there isn’t any more of this. This is beyond partisan difference. This behavior is unjustifiable. It is uncivilized, uncouth and low life. As much I get down on Republicans, I am seriously surprised and dismayed to see these displays. I didn’t think it would come to this. But I must say, the parties involved who have taken us down to this level, do not surprise me one iota. And I do not want to know how many sub-basements lower they can go.

The GOP is shattered. That’s the only conclusion to reach. I knew they were intellectually and culturally bankrupt. That’s been obvious for some time. But this level of spiritual bankruptcy, immaturity and lack of common decency is beyond belief. But I guess it does make sense. The fish rots from the head down and look at what they put there; a pussy grabber who’s in charge of the nukes and who brags about passing a cognitive test.

  1. Sorry, my dear Politizoom friends here, and I can’t believe the world is coming to this, but I am almost going to have to agree with Yoho here (it makes me ill even thinking about it, but alas…) I would have called her right straight to her face, “you willfully-ignorant, vile, fetid, hateful jew-hating, problem exacerbating, f^$@*g bitch, you. I hope you and your twins in Jew-hatred Rashida and Ilhan summarily drop dead, but before you do, leave a note somewhere how hating Jews, a “party” you three ate late to by some 3500 years, is in your minds “progressive”. Catching up on hating a group of people by 3500 years sounds pretty REgressive to me!”
‘Course, you should know, I don’t like her much, and I certainly have no use for her friends-in-Jew-hate Ilhan and Rashida. I despise racists whether Reppub or Dem. A racist is a racist is a a racist! And if I’ve pissed off any of my Politizoom friends and interlocuteurs for saying this, well, sorry, but tough shit. But I’ll finish with the highest, and most respectful kudo’s possible to Kareem and Barkley for saying truth and the obvious to all those Black Lives Matter people who worship Farrakhan and spout his ignorant racist SHIT that the only way for African Americans to respect themselves and get the love that they need for themselves is to ensure that everyone on earth hates those walking ”
“termites” the Jews. Finally some black people stood up (and I’ll accept that Kareem (who was just as noble and honourable a human being back in the Alcindor days) and Barkley are two pretty good examples) and asked fellow blacks the right question “How does it help our cause for justice and an end to racism to deflect and say ‘Hate Jews instead’????? This is idiocy!” I never thought I would say this to any basketball players not named Pete Maravich or Dr J, but “I love you both Charles and Kareem. That you-both for being mentsches!!! “

    • Bryan, I think you’re missing the point here. He had no business handling the situation the way he did. If he disagrees with her — and a lot of people do, she’s controversial — then the professional and classy thing to do is speak with her privately. Or, write her a vitriolic letter. But to call her vile names on the steps of a government building, one congressperson to another, is wrong. That’s not civilized. That’s what the dispute is, not whether she “deserved” it or not, but whether our elected officials know the difference between the professional world and a barroom brawl.

      • Hmmmmm, I suppose I could be brought over to totally understanding what you are saying and agree with you. I respect you and there is no question that you see this much more calmly than I do. Actually sounds like the 4-page letter I am struggling with right now. Ok, I give this one to you, there are better ways to express my hatred of this person than out loud on the steps of the Capitol.

    • As a jew, I support AOC. So you supposedly hate racism? U must despise the policies of Israel, since they have been running a police state against impoverished palestinians since 1948, oh& shooting children throwing rocks with military weapons. I have no sympathy for fascist no matter whether they hide behind the church, mosque, or temple. It’s called hypocrisy.

      • Actually Scott, I could’t possibly disagree more with every single word you have just said above. Your comments tell me that you don’t know ANY facts but are just parotting all the BDS lines. As I note above, I am writing a letter to my fellow members of the Green Party of Canada on why, under no circumstances, should we elect Dimitris Lascaris leader of the party and I will be addressing exactly why every word you say above is an unconditional lie. If you actually have any interest at all in seeing this letter, please let Ursula know and she will give me your real email address and I’ll send it to you.

    • Both these stories are pretty damn strange. I’m still trying to wrap my head around Liz Cheney being piled on like that. But maybe it’s as simple as voting out all the Forever Trumpers and whoever is left will be somewhat sane. This is really ugly. This level of argumentation has no place in public life.

  2. AOC and her young gal pals new to Congress, (those nasty 4 people of color that are also women, holy cow what a threat to old fart cigar smoke laden idiots …

In tribute to these newcomers, they have done rather well in the center of so much undue controversy … several times I have seen AOC, calmly reply with her on topic response and send the rotten blabber mouth Republican back to his corner with smart knowledge and always, what-ifs, and a more complete picture than what the attacker has on tap … it seems REALLY there IS a problem with the good-ole-boys these days, nothing but knee-jerking Jerks, loud, lose their place in their notes kind of things when these gals, not only poke a pinhole in their balloon, but rip it into little strips of colored rubber …

Thank god we have these people in our Congress … it’s a new world GOP, get used to it, work with it and these younger minds or take your damn marbles and go home … these new heroes of mine are working for the People those old Republicans are in the mud with the Senate, bouncing the Turtles’ master plan around so they can STILL be the Rat Republicans they always were …

    • The Squad is controversial, no question. I wonder, as we get into the run down to the election, why Trump abandoned them as a talking point? You remember several months ago how Trump elevated The Squad to deities? They were the Evil Democrats, incarnate? I haven’t heard Trump utter a word about them in months.

      • They are only controversial because they live in a country that cares more about money than principles, obedience more than critical thinking, oh & has kept women of color at the lowest rung in society. Oh & worships hypocrisy/shallowness over truth & substance.

  3. I love seeing these rat bastards going after one another. Now let’s hope their constituents go after them and vote their asses out!!!
