If this is what spring is like, I don’t want to even think about the long, hot summer ahead, which traditionally sees a spike in violent crime. Breaking news is that at least four people, including a child, were killed during an “officer-involved” shooting in Orange, California, south of Los Angeles in Orange County. Business Insider:
The City of Orange Police Department said in a Facebook post that they were called to a scene at 202 W. Lincoln Ave around 5:30 p.m. local time. Shots were being fired as officers arrived and an “officer-involved shooting occurred.” They said there were “multiple victims at the scene including fatalities.”
Police said the situation was under control and that there is no current threat to the public.
A mass shooting, for your information, is described as four or more dead. This is the first mass shooting in America this week. Maybe we should feel grateful?
The social climate is as out of control as the physical climate right now. We’ve seen a conga line of hurricanes and now we’re seeing one of mass shootings. Simply unbelievable.
Right now, the Texas legislature is considering a bill to authorize what they call “constitutional carry”. Gun owners would not need a permit for concealed or open carry of firearms. At the same time, of course, they are working on bills to further restrict voting. This is how they are trying make our country over and what they want to turn it into. The wild west, where bullets fly everywhere and even unarmed innocents fear for their safety.
Arizona did that years ago. Any adult can carry any firearm, concealed or open, with no license or training. I don’t understand why the police unions don’t use some of their ridiculous power to lobby against this, as it makes policing much harder.
I have always thought, similar to what they expressed in the 90’s when assault weapons were banned, that police really don’t want to face that sort of thing on the streets. I’m sure it makes their jobs more dangerous.
The west was never that wild – they made people turn in their guns when they got to town. (Most people had them for hunting.)
Not unbelievable at all! Shortly after he who shall not be named cheated its way into our White House, there was a noticeable increase in school and mass shootings. This was because he who shall not be named immediately showed it’s true colors, and inspired the RWQNJs to slime out from under their rocks! I remember seeing the articles, especially one that said something like that there were more of these incidents in the first 3 months of 2016 than in the previous 2-3 years (if I remember correctly).
