Yes, it looks weird. Yes, there are cries of “AI” and “fake” throughout Trump world. The rest of humanity is saying, “Damn. I knew it was bad but not this bad.” This is the 78-year-old dementia patient that is supposed to lead the western world — except the western world is saying, “Sorry, chaps. We were interested in America before she went insane. And she went insane with eight years of that Dubya fella. That was your Mulligan. Your absolute last chance at credibility happened when you voted this bum out. Now that you’ve voted him in again, the rest of us are talking about putting a dome up over America, to keep the contagion from spreading.” What contagion? Take your pick: stupidity, corruption and all the diseases of the flesh which will come back to haunt us after the anti-vax king gets rolling. One small comfort: Elon Musk, who is truly a pain, will likely be retired from the cast of this reality show from Hell after this post of his makes the rounds.

Your first paragraph is itself “weird” because the simple fact is it was all because the media was complicit in EVERYTHING. Trump came up with the idea and spread it to Fox and the rest of the right-wing propaganda machine before the “liberal” media picked it up and spread it even further, giving it a completely undue legitimacy. The right’s been following the same routine for the last 30 years and the “liberal” media has been falling for it every single time.
Hillary was mocked by the pundit class for theorizing about the “vast right-wing conspiracy” out to get Bill and the media has never lived down the fact that she was right and they were complicit in the conspiracy (which is largely why the media was so complicit in taking her out in the 2008 primaries and then in the entire 2016 campaign–remember that much of the 2016 primary season’s “rivalry” between her and Sanders had a lot of help from the media and that same media spent far more time in making her “crimes” look worse than Trump’s ACTUAL crimes).
Coupled with the laziness of voters when it comes to investigating the truth concerning candidates and what they plan to do. I’m doubtful we can now lessen the power of the media owned by the super rich, so the only alternative is for us to smarten up.
