Just when Traitor Tot thought his legal troubles couldn’t get any worse. In a matter of weeks, the criminal trial against the Trump Organization, and Trump’s former CFO Allan Weisselberg is scheduled to start. And multiple news outlets are reporting that Weisselberg will plead guilty in a matter of days to fraud charges.

This is still a developing story, so look for possible changes. The agreement reported is that Weisselberg will plead guilty to tax fraud charges. The agreement seems to be that he will spend 5 months in jail, time on probation, and pay fines and restitution. Weisselberg will also testify at the trial against the Trump organization, but reporting is that he is unwilling to testify directly against Trump in a trial. Note that Trump is not a defendant in this trial.

For Donald Trump, Allan Weisselberg is The most dangerous man alive. Weisselberg goes way back with Trump, and by that I mean all the way back. Weisselberg was working as Fred Trump’s accountant when Donald branched out on his own, and he took him with him. Weisselberg has literally been keeping Trump’s books since day one.

Think about that for a moment. From the day Trump started his business, Allan Weisselberg, and Allan Weisselberg alone knows where every penny came from, and where it went. Unlike The Trumpster Fire, Weisselberg is the ultimate details man. If numbers had to be fudged, it would be Weisselberg who had to sign off on the fudging, almost certainly with Trump’s approval, since secretaries didn’t dare order paper clips without his sign off.

Just a couple of examples of the kind if chicanery we’re talking about here. It was Trump who set the compensation packages for his senior executives, which would include Eric, Don Jr., and Ivanka. He paid Weisselberg less than he was worth. But then Trump personally paid the private school tuitions for Weisselbergs granddaughters. If he had paid the money to Weisselberg, Weisselberg would have had to pay state and federal taxes on the income. This way, Weisselberg saved the taxes on tens of thousands of dollars a year.

Remember Michael Cohen? When he took out a 2nd mortgage and personal loan to pay off Stormy Daniels, it was Weisselberg, on Trump’s orders, who crafted the bogus repayment scheme as legal consulting. Trump also gave senior executives exclusive use of company cars for personal reasons, again saving on taxes, and gifted Weisselbergs son and new wife with a new luxury apartment in a Trump property, without charging them rent. The list goes on and on. And a prosecutor is about to get a 50 year guided tour through the Trump organization books courtesy of Allan Weisselberg.

So far, Weisselberg is refusing to testify against Trump in a criminal trial. But it may not matter. Is the prosecutor asks him about Trump’s knowledge of a possibly illegal transaction, Weisselberg isn’t testifying against Trump, just the organization, he has to answer.

But the way I read the law, if Trump is brought up on charges in a separate trial, and an uncorroborated witness claims Trump know about something, and Trump’s lawyer calls him a liar, the prosecutor may be able to introduce Weisselberg’s testimony into evidence as corroboration. Trump’s lawyer has the right to call Weisselberg to the stand, but that would be suicidal on cross examination.

This is the thing that intrigues me. If Weisselberg cops the plea, I think it likely that the prosecutor will request a delay so that he can debrief Weisselberg as a cooperating witness. If that happens, and Weisselberg has the goods, it wouldn’t amaze me if the prosecutor filed a superseding indictment including a RICO charge. That could potentially bankrupt Trump personally, as well as his family and his organization.

This will play out in the fairly near future, so keep an eye on it. But with his prospective plea deal, Allan Weisselberg has just introduced a whole new, far more dangerous legal challenge to Trump than he’s come up against before. And right where it hurts the most, in his wallet. Don’t touch that dial.

  1. I wish all this criminal activity on former guy’s part would turn a light on in the heads of his base but it’s like there is a brick wall encircling their minds. Never I think, in the history of our country at least has there been such gullible and ignorant people. I am constantly amazed their brains have enough working neurons to take over the primary functions in their bodies…like breathing.

  2. Rico, rico rico….if this were woordle, you would have 4 letters towards “republiCLOWN”.
The entire party is an organized crime ring intent on destroying America.
    Think about it.
