I suppose there’s an acting job somewhere in Alina Habba’s future. She doesn’t have much range but she does have a lot of conviction — which considering the awful material she’s working with, is no small feat. The Trump Organization fraud trial court broke early for the weekend. On Monday Donald Trump is scheduled to take the stand. He’s the only witness on the docket.

Whether that means that the court feels that listening to Trump is all it can handle in one day, or whether the court anticipates that the situation may swiftly escalate out of control, is not known at this time. Here’s Habba setting the stage, however. Righteous indignation rules the day with her. Too bad her client is guilty as hell.

The part I love is about how much the Trump brand is worth. Now, what’s comical about that, is that Trump himself claimed at one point that his “brand” was worth a couple of billion dollars and none other than his bestie bankers at Deutsche Bank shot down that notion. Oh, well.

Al Gore quoted a few great lines, once: “If the law’s on your side, argue the law. If the facts are on your side, argue the facts. If neither are on your side, pound the table and holler.” Ladies and gentlemen, you have now seen that concept demonstrated right here in real time.

And then my next favorite part is, “These children were brought here.” Oh my God, no! Children are involved? Wait, you mean Donald Trump, Jr., age 45? And his 39 year old brother? Why that’s ghastly. And who’s fault exactly is it, that their own children have been subpoenaed to testify regarding his business dealings? His initials are DJT — not Letitia James.

And of course next Wednesday Ivanka Trump shows up — also a mere slip of a lass in her 40’s. Maybe she’ll have a good weekend, again, going to some superstar celebrity’s birthday bash.

Ivanka, by the by, has six nannies, and a few babysitters and house cleaners on top of that, plus Jared’s sister lives close by and she can pitch in. Ivanka has no shortage of paid help around her, she just wants people to think that way.

Rave on, Alina. Just be sure that you limit your raving to Letitia James and other public figures because if you get down and dirty and criticize the court staff, the judge will sock it to you with a large fine — or maybe even make an example of you by putting you in jail. I would not task this judge if I were you.

  1. Well, in Trump she’s got a client who’s emotional development seems to have stopped at the toddler stage, and as for the evil spawn from Trump and trophy wife #1 they’re all seemingly arrested at the spoiled rich kid early teenager stage.

  2. I wondered that there were Yelp reviews on this silly woman/the firm she works at. Thus far I think not only were reviews worth the time spent but also the single star reviews were well earned. What pretend college/university gives degrees, and law degrees at that, to people of this caliber?

    • You know what’s odd, is that the law school one attends isn’t necessarily the predictor of success. Jenna Ellis went to a perfectly respectable law school. Her issue seems to be lack of practical ability. There are two keys to success in law: one, you have to master the academics so you get the degree, pass the bar and two, you have to have some practical knack.

I have honestly seen graduates of “good” law schools lack practical ability and somebody else from a “lesser” school comes along and knocks their socks off. Law is a profession with a lot of variables, let’s just put it that way.
