Last night, Donald Trump addressed the Charlie Kirk assassination from the Oval Office, which was appropriate. (Though just as appropriate to address the targeting of MN legislators, which didn’t happen.) But there is something really odd about the video that had people on “X” arguing about whether the White House and Trump have devolved into using A.I. for such announcements. The questions arose due to a “glitch” in Trump’s right hand, the one that is often pancaked with makeup, the one most often associated with bruising – they had to know people would watch the right hand. As the Daily Dot notes:

Many viewers are chalking up the glitch to AI usage, criticizing the White House for seemingly using the technology to address an assassination on X.
“Uhhhh, can some of the bigger accounts start talking about the Trump Oval Office address being AI. This is a pretty big deal,” one user posts alongside a clip of the gitch:

Yeah, that is odd. And, again, this goes double when it involves the right hand because we have seen him try to hide it before.
Alas, it appears that the “glitch” is not A.I. but instead a point at which they spliced tape, which may actually be worse. It almost shouts that Trump cannot get through a fairly straightforward address in one take. And, to be honest, few would give him a hard time if he sort of struggled a bit. Many of us were quite shaken up by the shooting seen almost live. (The video is just awful, and one cannot unsee it, nor shake it off as anything but political violence at its worst.)
In a video with over 374,000 views, TikToker Brian Alldridge (@brianalldridge) validates viewers’ observation of minor glitches throughout the video. However, he says it’s not AI. It’s called “a morph cut.”
“You’ve got two separate clips that are stitched together. What the software will do is analyze the difference between those clips and generate new frames to fill the gap,” he says.
So at the very least, they had to do two takes of a very simple address. Or the expert above is wrong, and there is some A.I. infused into the address. Either way, it is awfully odd not to do the address live and instead do more than one take of a short address.
Unfortunately, having two takes might be the least offensive element of the address. Instead of coming out and telling the entire country to cool down and stop hating, Trump did little more than fan flames that are already too white hot. Of course, no one expected anything different. For a “We need to come together and stop the violence” speech, one will have to think back to Biden or Obama, or even George W. Bush, who was masterful in the week after 9/11 (Don’t ask about all that followed.)
Regardless, it is up to you to ponder whether it is more interesting to have a White House using A.I. in place of Oval Office addresses or multiple takes. If they give the appearance that the address is live, as they did last night, there is very little difference between the two. He did not do it in “one take,” no matter how one adds it up.

Oh, please. If this had happened while Biden was giving a similar address under similar circumstances, Fox Noise and the rest of the right-wing propaganda machine would make IT the news story (even if Biden were directly addressing Charlie Kirk’s death).
And it would go for WEEKS–probably with more than a few calls for Congress to “investigate” (as a prelude to holding impeachment hearings).
But Drumpf? Nah. Just another day in the media’s complicity in Drumpf’s continuing slide into senility and/or dementia.
I didn’t say anything about the media and Biden. Frankly, I am not going on a comparison bc I did the comparison in a speech for unity versus a speech blaming all Democrats and calling us evil. That being said, I wouldn’t give him a hard time if he had trouble getting through it hours after the shooting. I don’t care what the right-wing would do to Biden, I already know.
