Earlier tonight I posted an article in which I stated that the newly formed Evangelicals for Harris had held a digital conference call/rally that had attracted more than 70,000 participants.
That was incorrect, and I apologize for the misstatement. But it turns out that the real story is even better for Harris and the Democrats. It was in fact the newly formed Arizona group Republicans for Harris that held the online rally that garnered more than 70,000 participants. Evangelicals for Harris held their kickoff online event tonight, which was still going strong after 2.5 hours, with more than 200,000 Evangelicals signing online pledges to vote for Harris in November. If they’re as pious and holier-than-thou as they keep rubbing our noses in, I’m inclined to take them at their signature. Stick a pin in this, it could turn into a real waterloo for Traitor Tot.
Here’s the new scoop. Democratic North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper was on MSNBC earlier this evening. He said that in Kamala Harris’s most recent rally in North Carolina, they signed up more than 12,00 volunteers to the campaign, of which more than 9,500 had already worked at least one shift! This momentum is real.
Which may turn out to be the Harris campaign’s best secret weapon. I wrote earlier that the biggest problem with volunteers was staying power. Most campaigns aggressively recruit volunteers at rallies in the spring and summer, then try to keep them motivated until the fall when they crank up their on the ground operations.
But as I wrote at the time, because Biden waited until inside the 100 day mark to election day to step aside and give the reins to Harris, that isn’t a problem this time. On a truncated schedule to election day, Harris had the luxury of riding the wave on enthusiasm to start putting all those volunteers to work within days rather than weeks or months. especially when you consider her impressive roll out cash haul, allowing the campaign to open offices and hire trainers and office staff.
And that’s just North Carolina. Now think about the thousands of volunteers she has registered in PA, WI, MI, NV and AZ. Hell, she had more than 4,000 new volunteers in GA. And she is putting them to work immediately for the maximum impact.
Meanwhile, Trump has foolishly forsaken this approach for cash necessity. Trump personally not only suppressed, he literally shuttered volunteer and local grassroots activism to save money for his legal beagles. And several battleground state GOP parties are either cash starved, or already in Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Just like everything else Trump touches.
From where I’m sitting, there’s no way that the Harris campaign shouldn’t be able to ride this high speed express all the way to election day. On Monday you start a four day Woodstock lovefest masquerading as the Democratic National Convention. Three weeks later is the Trump-Harris debate, followed a week later by the first states opening up early voting. And considering the fact that early and mail in voting tends to favor Democrats, it’s networks start reporting record or near record early voting returns, that just puts more wind into the Harris sails.
Meanwhile Traitor Tot continues to flounder. What the campaign today called a policy event on the economy, mainly because both the venue and the crowd were too puny to qualify as a rally, His Lowness once again went off the rails into personal attacks, the one thing the campaign has been trying to warn him off of.
Pundits and analysts are starting to opine that the momentum of the Harris campaign reminds them of the incredible euphoria of the Obama 2008 campaign. That may well be true, but somehow I don’t remember in 2008 that McCain did everything in his power to hand the damn thing to Obama. Although he did saddle us with Caribou

Ursula…you know it. My heroes were the Beats, especially Ginsburg & Kerouac, then later Kesey, Hunter S Thompson…basically anyone who had the guts to go their own way. Two roads diverged in a wood and I took the road less traveled by kinda thing. I lost friends who decided it was too hard, went on to be millionaires as accountants, doctors etc. They ended up rich, but suppressed the best part of themselves. Following well worn paths requires conformity. Everything has a cost. Everything…including being a dharma bum. Ha.
