Look closely, you may not see Rudy Giuliani again for a while. The local sheriff is on standby, awaiting orders whether to arrest Rudy or not for not paying alimony to his third wife.
But that minor contretemps to the side, Rudy managed to get in front of a camera and now he’s telling old stories about himself and his BFF, Donald Trump.
They spent “almost the last six months” on the plane together. Maybe that’s why Maggie Haberman tells an anecdote about Trump getting on Rudy’s case for stinking up one of the bathrooms.
Rudy today says Trump asked him to be his 1st Attorney General, but he turned him down because he felt his close relationship would Trump would’ve presented an ethical conflict: “I don’t think there’s any doubt I could’ve been the AG, I was his first choice.” pic.twitter.com/k4yqYbsVUR

Remember Ambassador to Ukriane Gordon Sundland?
Gordon Sondland: "Damnit Rudy. Every time Rudy gets involved he goes and fucks everything up." https://t.co/sgYfNoe2ye

The more things change, the more they are the same.

I don’t know, Rudy. If I were you, I wouldn’t be worried about the ethics of government appointments that never were, I would worry about the fact that if you don’t get a quarter of a million bucks over to your ex, you will find your a$$ in jail. That’s real, not the AG appointment.

I’m a leprechaun & if you catch me you can have my pot of gold. God these people are delusional. I have taken many trips on lsd, shrooms, coleus leaves, etc. & hung around others doing the same. None of us were EVER this out of touch with reality. They must really work at it.
It’s possible the former guy did want Rudy as AG, but that was because they’d be partners in criming.
So, Rudy turned down the job of AG because it “presented an ethical conflict” but he had no problem trying to go into a COURT OF LAW AND LYING TO THE COURT (a *serious* breach of “ethics”–oh, wait, not of ethics but an actual criminal action). Doesn’t Rudy understand that the whole reason for being Trump’s Attorney General was to give all of Trump’s shenanigans legal coverage at every turn? That’s why Trump dumped the guy who DID get the job, Jeff Sessions–because Sessions was willing to defy Trump and follow the REAL law.
Have absolutely zero love for Sessions and wouldn’t cross the street to pee on him if I saw him on fire but I do have to respect the fact that there was actually a line he refused to cross to defend Trump.
