June is Black Music Month but because the furkids cannot for the life of them understand why some hoomins discriminate against other hoomins because of the colour of their skin or hair or eyes or anything else, they were surprised to hear music had a colour other than blue.
They do, however, know music has soul. Indeed they have as deep and abiding a love for soul music as they do for opera. But choosing a favourite among all their favourites was very difficult.
We began talking, mooing, bleating, baaing, snuffling, purring etc (there’s a lot of them) about this crazy old whirld – not the bad crazy but the good crazy – and the good crazy is never more evident than in the unforgettable things furkids do, at those wonderful moments when their basic craziness shines through.
We love them for so many reasons not least of which are those funny quirks they have that shape their individuality and make them forever unforgettable. But if you seem to forget sometimes, if your mind wanders for a moment in darkness, they’re here to shine a light and remind you of the joys of good crazy, and how much you love them for it.
Then someone asked if there was a song about loving the good crazy and yes, there is! And there’s a very special version of it in which two soulful singers span two generations in purrfect harmony.
A dapper gentleman called Nat gave the furkids the coins for the jukebox. All you need to do is click the play button, scroll down through the illustrated lyrics in time with the music, and sing along!

“Never try to outstubborn a cat.” (Robert Heinlein)
Heinlein is so right! I give in to Loula all the time.
Purr-fect as always.
And always delightful to see you!

It’s our pleasure sweet Rose.
(((((((((((Michelle))))))))))) I have to say, the furkids and I have some amazingly similar tastes in music! Favorite version of one of my favorite songs. Again!
I’ll pass it onto them – they’ll be delighted to hear it and no doubt ask me to congratulate you on your excellent taste!
Great pictures!!! What a pleasant change to my daily news binge. I met my new “ Grand cat” today. My daughter came out with her and said, “Its Great Grandma”. It’s my granddaughters kitten. She’s going to be ten July 4. So yes, I guess I am Great Grandma now.

Michelle dear! It’s Rosebuddear from Kos. I am so happy to find you here, I hated losing touch when you left Kos. I took over your old Moondai Furkids gig there because they needed someone to do it, so I tell them all Marvin and Buzzy’s adventures weekly, but your Moondai Furkids postings were always the best. Miss you! I am trying to get registered here, but so far I have not got my password in email. Happy Monday!
Hi Michelle dear! It’s Rosebuddear from Kos. I posted another comment but that was before I got my password so I don’t know where that comment is.
I’m so glad to find you here, I missed you since you left Kos! I took over the Moondai Furkids gig there since they needed somebody to do it, but nobody ever did fun ones like you do! I see you are continuing to do that here.
Ever so nice to see you again!
