When the going gets tough, the tough go on vacation. At least that’s what the tough Republicans do. The state of Texas is paralyzed under a winter storm and Greg Abbott’s handling of it is being characterized as “his Katrina” let’s hope it’s his Waterloo. Meanwhile, Ted Cruz has taken the family and headed for sunny Mexico, where it’s 85 degrees. Oh, but Teddums, it’s supposed to rain tomorrow and Saturday. Better put on your tanning oil and water flippers now, you might have to stay by the fireplace and drink margaritas tomorrow. Or, maybe you can fly to Buenas Aires, what the hey.

Sen. Ted Cruz likes his “Come and Take” mask so much that he wore it to the inauguration and on the plane to Cancun.

The death toll has climbed to 21, known at this time, and 2.7 million households are still without power, but Teddums, not to worry. You have some nice spicy salsa and guacamole to keep your tummy warm and keep those margaritas coming. You take care of you, Ted. That’s what you do best.

I guess Ted figured all the weather issues in Texas needed to be handled by STATE officials and he’s a FEDERAL official. So he didn’t have any urgent need to go home.
I’ve been a huge Jimmy Buffett fan for ages. All the way back to high school. A couple of his most popular songs really, really annoy me. However, a familiar line from one of those songs seems particularly relevant right now: “Wasting away in Margaritaville.” Dare we to hope that Ted Cruz’s political career is FINALLY doing just that? Waste away in Margaritaville? (And to think, the people in Texas COULD have had Beto O’Rourke in that Senate seat. Nice going Texas, and I say that with ALL the sarcasm and snark I can muster both to Democrats who couldn’t be bothered to vote and for Independents and Republicans in Texas who knew what a P.O.S. Cruz has always been but voted for him anyway because they just couldn’t bring themselves to vote for a Democrat!)
Ted, everybody’s gas bag of the day, Cruz, keeps giving shit for dollars spent … he is only as smart as putting screen doors on submarines would be …
His grand plans NEVER include solutions and support for the people, after all, that would require so much more effort and the results would hamper his next vac/trip time and/or plinking with his AR-15 …
AND, if there is one person you would NOT want to buy a used car from, it would be Cruzafer …
Cruz swims in his own adulation, like Trump, the smartest person in the room until they catch you …
Yeah, we’ve got a lot of crap to clean up here in the great state of Texas, and finally destroying the Republican shitshow is high on the list.
Stay in Cancun Ted!
To be honest, there’s nothing Ted Cruz can actually do for the people of Texas. Well, to be more accurate, there’s nothing Ted Cruz can do for anyone anywhere who isn’t named Cruz or Trump.
How many more times does the asshat have to show people who he really is and where his priorities are?
It is a safe bet that anyone who could leave Texas right now did, and I do not blame them. But I agree the optics are irresistible for political outrage. As an aside, his little girl hasn’t aged a day in four years.
