i do get emails of the stories

I didn’t save the password in my browser, can’t get a recovery email because it doesn’t recognize my email address, signed up for a new account, and haven’t gotten *that* email either. Idunno. As long as I can comment, I’ll survive.

I don’t think I’m having a problem receiving the newsletter. I get a notification in my email and on Chrome.
There is an article about Kevin Mccarthy that I just received.

3: Pop up on right bottom
4: No rating buttons at all
5: No problems with comments (so far)
6: I still haven’t found the option to receive e-mail notifications do I’d put it on a ‘virtually impossible’ rating

Thank you for all your work getting this back up and running. I’ve no idea what’s involved, but assume it’s complicated and nerve-wracking. It’s good to be getting Politizoom again! I missed it while it was down.

FYI, I just clicked on the link to become a patron, and there’s a problem with that.

No newsletter since switch. I subscribed again but still none. No rating buttons. Went to website to read articles. Good luck Ursula. And thanks for all your work & insight.

I have not received the newsletter since the server was changed. I have received one or two blog posts such as the one on McCarthy today but nothing else.

No newsletter. Yes to email notifications. Yes to some pop ups (not sure if its for all posts, or not). Like button is hit and miss (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t). If this doesn’t show up then I’m having a problem with comments :)…

3. Well used to get the Newsletter and Notification pop ups on the old site. Nothing popups as of 2-1-21 1335 (1:35pm central).

1. I just signed up for the Newsletter. And checked email. New blog on Kevin McCarthy. This right after i signed up for the newsletter.

2. I did get the email notifications on stories. But had noticed they had gone into my spam recently.

6. Well, y’all do got two sections on right. Top one says subscribe to newsletter with email (one I used) and the bottom one wants name and email (but doesn’t say for what…? site, newsletter ?? )

I can’t imagine the stress of fixing this . . . I hope it it isn’t too terrible to do.
1. I don’t get the whole newsletter like I used to.
2. I get an email with a link for one article. When I click on it the article comes up with a right sidebar with the rest of the articles. I don’t think the pop up window with another article is there.
3. No pop up on the side – just a static list of all the articles.
4. don’t know what uprate/downrate button is – I don’t see anything that says that.
5. I am commenting now – will see if it goes through OK.

4, 5, 6. Haven’t tried to uprate or comment since this started. If you can see this, I guess i have no problem. I don’t know about the buttons either. I signed up for the newsletter in June 2014 and that was the last time I looked at buttons.

I am now receiving email notifications of stories, but no newsletter. There are no up/down rate buttons when I go to the story, and I don’t see a place to sign in so it knows who I am. There are lists and a popup on the side of this story.

Sure thing:
1&2 I’ve received 7 email notifications of a new post, & 2 (restyled) newsletters (on 28th & 29th, which seemed fine i think), since the change. But at the previous rate of posting, 7 wouldn’t be ‘all’.
3. I don’t get whatever side notifications etc are, & didn’t before, & don’t know what it means anyway! But I’m doing it on phone, not proper computer.
4. The up/down rating buttons aren’t there anymore, but I assumed you’d stopped them after a post just before the change (with huge number of comments) seemed to have it’s ratings taken over by MAGAts!
5. I’ve not commented since change til now.
6. Not clear how to sign up, seen no mention of it, but was assuming I’m already signed up!

Finally, a post actually registered!! So there is progress on that score. Good!

Interesting: my post just made before this one went into the top of the thread, whereas the one posted just a few seconds before that went into the bottom of the thread. Weird.

OK, I have created a new account. Now I have up/down buttons, and they work.

Ahhh… It’s so good to have this place back up & running. Everything is working fine for me, with just one exception. No newsletter that I’m aware of… though I’ll need to check my spam folder to be certain. I’ve been getting email notifications for new individual stories, but have not seen a newsletter since the move. I just went through the process of registering & that worked fine. I can clearly see the voting arrows & those appear to work properly now. I have an icon to the side of my screen that wants me to allow push notifications, I’m not sure if that’s what you’re referring to by notifications. If it doesn’t turn up in my spam folder, I’m going to re-subscribe to the newsletter & see how that goes. I have to join the rest of the community in commending you for all your hard work, thank you for putting so much effort into this site. Politizoom is a much needed breath of fresh air for me.

Hello. I just tried posting a comment outlining how the site was working well for me so far. I put some thought into it & when I was pleased with what I’d typed I tried to post it. After a slight delay the screen refreshed. My comment was gone from the box, but it did not show up anywhere in the thread. I’m hoping it’s just caught up for some reason, but if it doesn’t show up shortly I’ll attempt to reproduce it. All in all everything is working for me except for newsletters. I haven’t recieved one since the move. Also, I’d like to thank you for all your hard work here, Ursula. This site is a true refuge from all the vitriol I encounter online.

I’ve been getting an email with a link, the pop ups but no up/down vote button. I just tried to sign in and it’s not recognizing the password I entered when I became a monthly supporter. Are you getting those now that you moved?

I haven’t gotten a newsletter since the switch.
I HAVE started to get email notices of a new article – a single article as in only one such notice per day. I just come directly to the site on my computer since I mostly check emails on my phone and only use the computer for email when I want to write, or if someone I trust sends me a link of a video.
Other than the blue button to like an article under the title pick, I no longer see up or down vote buttons on comments.
As for comments themselves (will be interesting to see what happens when I hit the button on this one!) even before I had a lot of them kicked into moderation for one reason or another. That seems to have happened with most of my comments in recent days even when I try to keep them relatively short and avoid what Dave Berry liked to call extremely bad words. So we’ll see what happens this time. If I don’t see this comment posted right away I’ll email you later tonight. I know this has to be a major pain for you and life was already cray before all this but bit by bit it will all get sorted out. So if you have to unplug for a few hours each day to smell the flowers and retain your wits please do so.

I can rate stories themselves but not comments. The box to comment is way down at the bottom so if there are 44 comments as there are here, it’s a pain in the butt. I am gettin occasional emails about stories, but not all.

I am not sure I have commented before tonight. I got newsletters 12 hours apart Wednesday night and Thursday then nothing. I get email links of some stories but would rather have them in one newsletter. For me Notifications are working fine coming when they are supposed to.

1. Never did get a newsletter. Guess I never subscribed. Just did, so we’ll see if one shows up.
2. Get e-mails on some articles, but not all.
3. Getting pop-ups, but don’t know if it’s for all new articles. Seems like I’m getting more of those than e-mails though.
4. There are no uprate, downrate buttons.
5. This is my first comment since the switch, so we’ll see.
6. Was clear how to sign up for the newsletter. There’s another subscribe spot underneath the list of articles on the side. It may be for e-mails. I don’t know, because it doesn’t say.

Guessing this is something that needs to be signed up for but I’m not really interested in the newsletter.

Again–guessing this is a “sign up” issue and not really interested. (For the record, after I joined at Daily Kos, I started getting all sorts of “newsletters” and email requests and suddenly found I’d become a “member” at a number of progressive sites like PFAW, even though I never visited any of those websites to join as well as getting donation requests from a lot of individuals, groups and their affiliated PACs. Not saying this would happen by joining here but I prefer being a more-or-less anonymous visitor/commenter.)

Again–thinking this is something connected with signing up with the site but I generally have all notifications blocked because I *really* get annoyed when I’m doing something (like playing a game online) and a pop up or notification “screams” at me, interrupting whatever else I’m doing.

Haven’t seen them since the last little upgrade. Is this now a sign-up bonus? The only thing I’ve really noticed that’s different is that some folks have a “User Karma” thing by their name but no uprate/downrate buttons.

Not in the past couple of days. I have had a couple of times when a story wouldn’t load in a new tab but reloading seemed to solve that. There WAS an odd incident a couple of days ago. I posted a (fairly lengthy, as is my wont) comment and after hitting the “Post Comment” button, I got this weird error message; I don’t recall the actual thing but it seemed to be a kind of server error and when I tried refreshing the piece, I got the error again. I checked a couple minutes later and the page loaded fine; I posted the comment again (slightly altered since I didn’t recall the exact wording, etc) and it posted fine.

“6. Is it clear how to sign up for email notifications and/or the newsletter?”

Not really but I’m guessing a click on the “sign-in/join” button would take care of that. And, I’m not really interested in either.

No newsletter, just an email notification of one story. Usually one a day. When i get to the site, the list of articles is from the day before, not the current day.
