Friends, if you are night owls up at all hours of the morning, so are most of us in the blogosphere. Tonight however, January 23, 2021 between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. we are migrating the PolitiZoom server — meaning simply that AWS used to host us and we’re moving on to a new host.
Now, the site may act iffy, take a while to load, things like that. It’s nothing to worry about. We are (hopefully) controlling transmission. We will control the horizontal and the vertical so don’t worry about it. Worst case scenario, you go to bed and when you come back tomorrow it will be awwwll better.
Until then, we will continue to post new stories and keep you informed and entertained.

Actually I might just watch some MST3K re-runs (I’ve the complete set bar the very first 3 episodes). I’ll admit they were all baaaad (not quite as bad as the Trompador though)
Ah, you’re an MST3K fan too, daithi? I fell in love with that one when I rented the movie, which, you’ll recall, made merciless fun of This Island Earth. I laughed harder that night than I had the entire week before (my favorite joke: “The Jetsons 2…After The Apocalypse!”) and was an instant fan after.
Maybe with the new system we could modify the up^/down rating plan, adding a red flag with white letters that says TROLL as a third choice, and we can lock their comments until you see the flag and if you agree with the adults on line here, trouble is, it would be accessible as a troll weapon, maybe make it a two digit report how many of each hits it gets positive or negative, rather than a changing single digit?
That last blast from the trolls was a massive attack and the language was very offensive, stupid drivel, also extreme attacks on our little bear, the hair on my arms was tingling until I realized I was entertaining visions of my hands doing left-right slaps across these people’s face … unfortunately they were probably in Russia, or Nigeria, some hot spot for internet stupidity …

I’m a mod on a couple of fora and it does take a lot of effort to sift through various threads looking for trolls and/or spam. A ‘report to moderator’ flag is a better option as it means whoever is doing the job can get through it easier by checking reported posts instead of hunting through an avalanche like the one we have been seeing. The one that has the ‘report’ option automatically e-mails all the mods when used

OK – there’s a severe bug. The web page doesn’t have a security certificate so it gets blocked by Firefox. You can get round it by disabling the security check but this has to be done every time

Looks like it has been patched. I can get in with FF now but there are messages during log-in of a ‘temp box’ so it’s probably still being worked on
