Last month, Duncan Hunter (R-Calif) and his wife were indicted on charges of misusing over $250,000 in campaign funds for their own personal use. Then Hunter threw his wife under the bus, claiming that she took care of all the finances. Now, prosecutors allege that Hunter spent some of that cash on affairs with five separate individuals and reportedly have photographic evidence.
Along with claiming that the issues with misused finances were all his wife’s doing, Hunter also whined that, ‘It’s difficult to live’ in San Diego on a congressional salary of $174K. Sure, buddy. I suppose it would be if you’re screwing around with at least five other women! Those hotel bills must really add up!!
The 47-page indictment document, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune alleges that the congressman had “personal relationships” with at least five individuals and Hunter’s lawyer, Gregory Vega, objected to the turn the investigation took.
Vega claims that his client’s indiscretions don’t rise to the level of a crime and that the “criminal charges for conduct that falls into gray areas of civil election law”.
“This is true even for personal indiscretions of the congressman that the prosecutors seem intent on charging,” said Vega. “The supposed reason given for including these details is that they reflect spending of campaign funds for extramarital infidelities and excessive drinking.” He continued, “While there may be evidence of infidelity, irresponsibility or alcohol dependence, once properly understood, the underlying facts do not equate to criminal activity.”
Let me guess, his infidelities and alcohol dependence will eventually be blamed on his wife as well.
By the way, Hunter’s trial is scheduled for Nov. 24 ― a date that falls AFTER Election Day, which means he’s still on the ballot. The craziest thing? The most recent poll by KGTV/Survey USA shows Hunter a full EIGHT percentage points ahead of his Democratic challenger, Ammar Campa-Najjar. A candidate that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez supports.
In case you missed it in yesterday’s GOP bonanza,
Sitting GOP Congressman @Rep_Hunter was also indicted.
My progressive brother candidate @ACampaNajjar is running against him.
Ammar doesn’t take corporate ? & supports Medicare for All.

Let’s not let this GOP scumbag win!! Duncan Hunter is just another example of how deep the corruption goes. Hunter and the Party of Trump representatives are only interested in serving themselves.
And in Hunter’s case, he’s serving himself to at least 5 times more – both in salary and relationships – than the average American.
