Kenny Paxton isn’t doing very well at his town halls and rallies. If you can keep him from running away, that is. We’ve seen examples of Paxton bailing out of wherever he is when the press or constituents ask the hard questions. His campaign ran an ad stating that Talarico was in a mental health program when he was out with a bad case of the flu. When he came back, oh, did it backfire on the Republicans! Talarico promptly took care of the lie by debunking it with his medical records.
But back to Paxton. He needs an appropriate nickname. Suggestions welcome. So, he was doing a campaign stop in San Angelo. He threw a party, and most people stayed home. But this one, well, he had a few dozen people in a smaller part of the building. They did not book the ballroom that could fit up to 300 people.
That’s very telling. He had room for slightly over one hundred people, then couldn’t fill even that. He did actually talk for a bit. The whole thing was likely an exercise in lethargy. Unfortunately, all we know comes from the article being used to bring you this hellaciously funny campaign stop. But on the other hand, he’d probably run away rather than answer.
He did do two rallies with Trump that were better attended, but you know Trump abused him again. Paxton must have nerves of steel to be able to stand there and have Trump ridicule him to his face. Much as we detest Paxton, he doesn’t deserve that from Trump. And it’s likely Trump brought up a certain Senator’s ass … excuse me, buttocks, and compared it to Paxton’s. That’s disgusting. What the hell is he thinking with this obsession with butts? It has to be embarrassing for the Senator. And when will Trump show us Petey Boy’s? *gag*
Now, here’s some entertainment, with gratitude to Raw Story:
The stop came a day after Trump joined Paxton for two Texas rallies that, per the Beast, drew far bigger crowds. In Corpus Christi, Paxton said, “July 4, we celebrated something pretty cool” and called it the nation’s 200th anniversary. Democrat James Talarico responded on X, “It was actually our 250th anniversary,” and added that Paxton spent the holiday in England. In another moment for Paxton to be mocked on X, a clip made the rounds of Paxton acknowledging the sparseness of attendance, telling a rallygoer, “Thank you. Thank you for that one clap.”
Well, at least he has a sense of humor. Trump said something crass again, of course. It’s all about the asses. The Senator is probably wondering how in the hell he could get Trump to shut up about it. That’s the tough part. If Trump is fixated on something, it takes a long time for him to let go. And we have no idea what got this started, so we might have a clue about how to stop it. Trump is not only embarrassing himself, but also other people. Why? Has Trump’s mental state gone so far that he’s losing more guardrails? It’s weird. And a whole bunch of us wish it would stop. That includes Paxton and Husted at the very least. Trump is torpedoing Republicans left and right. Tuesday will show how badly.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking is the ability to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
