This is getting old. And it’s total bullsht. This is ridiculous. What is it with senators trying to take Jack Smith down for everything and anything? If this is exhausting for us, imagine how he must feel. And it’s for such a small thing he did years ago. This senator may not even have his data under what he’s screaming about.

It’s the phone records Mr. Smith got during his Trump insurrection investigation. It was just the calls and texts listed. It wasn’t even the content – it was just the listings. So far, it’s just Republicans having hissyfits. This attempt is just as lame as Schimitts was. More on him at another time. Schmitts got information in the strangest way. This Republican did not, and he thinks he has Jack Smith cold on those calls and texts. Perhaps it was because Jack Smith was investigating their fat, orange-faced god, and they’re afraid they could be next.

Jack Smith told us, before he had to resign, that no thanks to Merrick Garland for being TOO DAMN SLOW to get the investigations started, he *would have* gotten a guilty verdict for Trump on the insurrection. Thanks to Loose Cannon, we have no idea about what he had regarding the retention of records (partly stored in a bathroom and ballroom, which is still stunning) at Mar-A-Slobo. All Trump needed to do was return things he had stolen, and the rest would not have happened there, such as the search and seizure. Simple. Trump ran for president to stay out of jail. And look where that got us. Are you still happy, MAGA?

But back on topic, the senator was a little bit different with his attack. He’s outraged about the phone logs, yes, but he’s taking it a different way. With appreciation for Raw Story:

A Republican senator has filed a formal complaint asking Tennessee’s attorney disciplinary board to investigate former special counsel Jack Smith and pursue his disbarment. Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) sent a four-page letter dated Wednesday to R. Culver Schmid, chairman of the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee, accusing Smith of “serious misconduct” when he obtained senators’ phone records during his investigation of Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

As always, there’s more to the article that you can get by following the Raw Story link. This is excessive considering what they were for; it was only to check the numbers to see who had been speaking to who during the insurrection, but NOT the information contained wherein, so the senators are overreacting to extremes. I don’t think any of us would have cared about it, considering what Jack Smith was doing, because the insurrection was horrifying all around. Even if I didn’t know about it, it still would have been fine. The senators are making a mountain out of not even a molehill, but out of a single piece of dirt.

Jack Smith was a prosecutor for the International Criminal Court. Are any of the senators aware of that? Do the senators *really* think he went outside the law? Come on now! He *knows* what he is talking about. Something like phone records is not going to derail the entire investigation! There was a substantial amount of work that went into that probe, that scrutiny. Senator Hagerty is spitting into the wind. This isn’t going to go anywhere. But now that he’s sent the letter to the chairman of the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee, he can feel all self-righteous. “See what *I* did?” Bullsht. Come back when you’ve learned the law. And manners. Yea.

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
