Fresh off a couple of comments from yesterday’s piece, today has provided the basis for another column. We should be seriously worried about this guy. His prejudice is showing, and it’s not small. It hinted at being small, but when it came to light, well, it’s pretty big. Why he hasn’t been fired yet is inexplicable. He’s certainly done nothing but hurt the military, particularly anyone female or of a color that isn’t white. He’s fired extremely experienced military leaders. He abused the system when he *had* to pull in all the top people from their posts where they were needed to watch him prance around on stage and treat them like children. What an insult to all those officers, and it really could have been done through secure links and Zoom.
Well, Petey Boy made a rather … unusual speech, and the WSJ hammered him down. They’ve been doing some amazing editorials. It almost sounds like they’re on “our side”, which is weird and creepy and unexpected and welcome. We’ll take all the help we can get. The WSJ choosing to go after Hegseth is always a bonus, because it’s fun, nearly on the level of Elon, which was great entertainment during the disastrous DOGE days. We’re going to be fixing things for a long time because of that.
Alright, time to show you some of what was said. With gratitude for Raw Story:
The conservative Wall Street Journal editorial board had scorn for Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s bizarre speech boasting about how his military only had “warriors,” rather than “beardos,” “weirdos,” or slurs for transgender people. Hegseth, wrote the board, “rolled out several good U.S. military initiatives on Wednesday, and usually the purpose of big speeches is to persuade the public of worthy ideas. Yet Mr. Hegseth seems determined to shrink his support with gratuitous potshots.
However, the board said, Hegseth “couldn’t resist his usual polarizing attack routine against all and sundry, and he even accused the press of ‘treason‘ for publishing what’s leaking out of the secretary’s shop. The most remembered line of the speech will be Mr. Hegseth’s declaration that the U.S. military no longer abides ‘beardos’ or ‘weirdos.‘ As a practical matter, has he met anyone in defense technology lately?
Petey Boy’s prejudices are *really* showing here. He’s made changes in the military that he thinks will improve it (testosterone checking? Really), which is doubtful, but he gets one point for trying. Just one. But even the changes are ridiculous. Getting in better shape is understandable. It *is* the military. But his videos are getting … unnerving. He seems to have this obsession with men jogging around a parking lot, or he’s working out with them, trying to show the manly man machismo he wants for the male people in the service. Notice again there’s been nothing about females who are just as capable, or anyone’s skin that isn’t white. It’s *always* a white men-only thing. Yes, his prejudices are getting worse and worse over time. And it hasn’t even been two years.
If we get a democratic president in 2028, let’s hope he does, because the country isn’t ready for a female president, dammit, please let him put someone good into the position and punt Hegseth as far as possible from the White House. We can see if he bounces. Hegseth continues to demean *himself* with his nicknames and slurs, because it reflects more on him than the people he’s describing. This man has a one-track mind like a gnat. That’s probably an insult to gnats. So Petey Boy just keeps digging himself in deeper. One day we won’t see him anymore. And don’t forget, articles of impeachment are going to be filed when the House goes back into session. We can hardly wait!
