From the celebration for the winner of the tournament. He was caught on a hot mic with a plea to staffers, asking to go home. From a golf celebration. What’s wrong with this picture? Leaving golf is so not Trump. But a mic caught it, so this one can’t be mistaken for FAKE NEWS. It seems that Trump, who boasts about his perfect medical visits, was tired (or something).
That’s just embarrassing. This is not the Trump we’ve known. He usually stays until the bitter (or greatest_ end. Any time he can be in the spotlight, he keeps going. But if former President Biden did this at any time, people would have jumped all over him for it, and it would be trending absolutely everywhere.
We know Trump has admitted he can’t run for a third term. We know Trump has considered his own mortality. And we know he loves making AI videos showing himself as big and strong and saving the country, if not the world, possibly to show he is actually young and virile and is doing just fine. But he isn’t. Those moments have been increasing. We can tell just by the flip-flopping on Iran, or the begging to think he is on the ballot to get voters to come out. He knows he and Republicans are in trouble, which is surprising.
Yet with all his manic posting overnight, he seems like he doesn’t need much sleep. But the crazier they get as the night moves on shows us that’s fiction. Trump would be better off if he actually slept for more than a nap here and there, sometimes mortifyingly so (see: the Peace group he created). There he was on the big screen in the big deal seat, and he fell asleep. America cringed, likely even MAGA, because that is not what they want their hero to look like.
Let’s bring in Raw Story for some quotes.
A hot mic caught President Donald Trump muttering that he’d like to go home during the U.S. team’s Presidents Cup victory celebration — as the players around him promptly walked away. After shaking hands with U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker, Trump appeared to tell him, “You’re going to go down in history,” according to the outlet. He then turned away and seemed to say, “I’d like to go home” — at which point the players stepped away from him. A song by anti-Trump singer Pink began playing over the speakers, cutting off any further audio.
And it gets better!
He added that [PGA Tour CEO Brian] Rolapp had asked him for a short speech, but he didn’t have “the courage” to give one, quipping, “These people want to see golf. They don’t want to hear speeches.” Less than a minute later, however, as the Village People’s song “Y.M.C.A.” played, an attendee could be heard shouting what appeared to be a profanity-laced insult directed at Trump. According to several online commentators, including Breck Worsham, a prominent right-wing influencer and ex-Trump supporter, the heckler appeared to loudly call Trump “a f—— pedophile,” followed by a cheer.
Social media reacted appropriately, at least for “our side”. And, of course, “his side” responded appropriately. And there were protesters. Yes, there were protesters. Hundreds. Of course, there were skirmishes between “both sides”. That part was rinse and repeat. But Trump wanted to leave a golf celebration. Isn’t that strange?
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working.
