Nothing quite like stealing something that’s definitely not and never will be theirs, and then being snarky about it. It was months ago that we knew Markwhat Mullin was going to be worse than Gnome … er Noem. It’s official now. Stealing someone’s image? Yeah, someone should pay for that.
But wait, there’s more! It seems that DHS is, indeed, being a dick and refusing to take a DHS ad with a football player down. They’ve essentially thumbed their noses at the NFL and said NOPE. Since when does the DHS have the right to do that? They are most certainly NOT the law of the land.
Let’s hope there are lawsuits in the very near future. It is the height of arrogance to do that and use images you’ve grabbed that aren’t your property. The NFL and the player have the rights, if anyone. No football fan here. It’s silly. But then, watching soccer could be termed just as silly.
We shouldn’t be surprised. We know all about the administration, particularly Trump, using someone else’s work. How many cease-and-desist lawyers had to contact Trump’s campaign multiple times for using music that they hadn’t licensed? How much nonsense was there with the overlays using someone’s image or music from day 1 of this administration? We know Petey Boy did it. Hegseth is another one of those who think they are at the top of the hill, so they don’t have to worry about these things. Really, the arrogance of the entire *administration* is stunning. Stephen Miller is the worst. Hegseth comes second to him, hard as that may be to believe. Yes, seriously. Obviously, the same for Markwhat Mullin.

The Department of Homeland Security is flatly refusing to pull down a social media video built around former Philadelphia Eagles safety Brian Dawkins after the NFL formally asked the agency to remove it, according to The Washington Sun.
The video, first posted Sunday night, splices together footage of Dawkins’ signature pregame hype walks and hard-hitting tackles, set to the Korn track “Blind” and captioned “Our time has come,” a nod to Dawkins’ own famous pump-up chant. DHS shared it in direct response to news coverage of a migrant caravan making its way toward the U.S. border.
It’s not the first time the Trump administration has repurposed sports and pop culture footage to push its immigration messaging, having previously layered NFL highlight clips over footage of U.S. military strikes in Iran. “DHS is playing lockdown defense at the border. We will use every Weapon at our disposal, from A to X, to keep Americans safe,” Rebel said.
A to X? Huh? Why not Z? Do we not have something that begins with Z? And this is the thing that really bothers me about the southern border. It seems as if no one thinks about how these people got there. They *walked*, hoping for a new and better life. But they get treated like dirt. On the other hand, it’s surprising anyone wants to come here with DHS ramped up to 11. Our country is in rough shape. Wish they could build some kind of shelter for the people waiting on the other side of the border, even just a roof to keep rain off. Not going to happen, but it’s a good dream.
Just noticed something else, but it’s oh dark:17. “We will use every Weapon at our disposal…” Weapons? Excuse me? We do not need to use weapons against immigrants. It’s not like they can fight back, for heaven’s sake! Instead, DHS uses a video of someone to push their message out for people who haven’t even arrived yet. The illegal immigrants here are already terrorized enough. But DHS can use whatever images it wants for these propaganda posts. Dadgum.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love.
