Oops. Kenny Boy Paxton has done it again. He must be driving the Republicans in Texas batty. You may remember a piece or three covering various scandals. He’s getting to be such an easy target. But Trump chose him, and we all know he says he never does anything wrong. But Paxon had and continues to have scandals. He’s making it easy to discuss his scandals. He’s not embarrassed enough to consider leaving the race; oh no, he won’t because Trump chose him and it’s a glaring error.
There are races all over America where Democrats are doing substantially well in red local races, red counties, red states (say: Texas and Florida). Paxton continues to pile drive himself. How the hell did he function as AG with the blatant lack of brains he has? Because he’s in a red race for a red state. Damn, we can hope Talarico wins! Good gods. Let’s get some commentary from Raw Story:
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton appears to have violated federal ethics law in significant ways when filing recent disclosures of his assets and liabilities, creating confusion about his net worth and holdings, a review by ProPublica and The Texas Tribune found. Among them: Paxton, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, reported owning seven homes but said he earned no income from any. Yet all but one was listed for rent, the news organizations found. Receiving income and not reporting it is a violation of federal disclosure law, three ethics experts said.
The apparent errors and omissions the newsrooms found obscure the extent of Paxton’s income streams, assets, and debt, making it difficult for voters to make sense of his finances as they mull whether to support him in November’s election, the ethics experts said. “It reflects either pure sloppiness on Paxton’s part or a deliberate effort to conceal some of his investments and property holdings,” said Craig Holman, a government affairs lobbyist for the nonpartisan good-government group Public Citizen. The apparent omissions are part of a pattern for Paxton.
Neither one of those reasons was a good idea. It may be delayed, if he’s lucky, until after midterms. But it *will* come. And part of a pattern? What was Trump thinking? Oh, wait. He didn’t think about such things because he’s managed, more or less, to skate out of his scandals. They both have patterns. We can’t figure out what’s going on with Paxton yet because he’s had so many scandals. I did a quick search to see what I could find, and there are *20* scandals listed, which I will omit posting because it’s long. Very long. It starts back in 2008.
It seems that Paxton seems to have skated through almost everything. Yes, he’s definitely a kindred spirit to Trump. And that says it right there why Trump backed him. One would say that shouldn’t be done to Texas, but then there’s Abbott possibly looking at a 2028 run with his own corruption. If Paxton wins, folks in Congress better expect the worst of him. How long will it be before he’s in another scandal? Let’s give him 6 months … on the outside. Talarico would be a substantially better choice, but this is red Texas. We’re hoping for Talarico and may have to put up with that nasty other guy
