Don’t boast if you can’t support it. Johnson forgot that rule. He didn’t do his due diligence in fact-checking. He’s getting hammered for his falsehood. He was trying to make Trump and Congress look good with all that they’ve done. No, Mr. Johnson, that’s a fail. He crows about things he makes up. And if he’s the stereotypical Republican, he thought he would be believed.
In today’s world, with all sorts of information at our fingertips, checking on a statement is easy to do. It happens to me, and there is much gratitude for the information provided. And it’s also good that any of our readers feel they can do this. Being wrong is embarrassing, yes. Johnson should know that very well by this point, but perhaps his ego won’t accept that he’s wrong, at least not in public. He likely gets fact-checked a lot. And again, we know that a Brain is not required to be in Congress.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) tried bragging about how productive Congress has been under GOP leadership, only for X’s community notes to call him out. In a Friday post, the account for the MeidasTouch political news network pointed out a “brutal community note” that appeared below one of Johnson’s posts. In Johnson’s post, he boasted that “House Republicans passed over 70 bills this week alone,” and touted that the number “adds to our total of over 900 bills passed through the House so far this Congress.”
However, the community note pointed out that “the 119th Congress was the least productive in history,” referring to the current Congress. “No Congress has enacted less legislation or laws,” the note went on, and even called out the House Speaker himself. “Johnson has cancelled a total of 63 scheduled voting days in the House, granting members an extra 2 months PTO, with no House votes scheduled until after the election.”
Yes, Mikey, someone called bullsh!t on you. That’s a pretty big load that’s been dumped on you, and for good reason. Your boast is no more than a hopeful whisper in the wind. That’s pitiful. The spine he thought he had was only borrowed, and it’s left him now. This simply adds more to the “Johnson is a wimp” list. No wonder he made Speaker. He’s such a wuss; it’s easy to talk him into or out of something. But this little gem is all his own. Will we be able to get a new Speaker next year? Sure, it’s not the easiest job, but. Here’s hoping!
