Yes, he’s going to be in even bigger trouble. Pictures of how badly our bases and equipment were damaged have leaked out. That’s proof of what we had been told earlier this year: that we were hit in all our allied countries’ bases, and it was most certainly not minor. Add this to the cost of the Forever War. The bases will need to be rebuilt, aircraft replaced, buildings hardened to protect against aerial attack; the list must go on because those are only a few of the things pulled out of the air. And again, your writer has no military experience, just from what has been read and heard.
Trump is going to be really unhappy with Petey Boy once all of this has come out. Trump is squirming over the war already, and to find out our bases were hit because we were woefully unprepared? Someone should have thought about our allies being caught in the middle. They are not responsible for our bases, after all. The countries are friendly, but the base is our issue. Heads will roll.
And now Iran is attacking our allies, too. You’d think they were trying to create a major war when they have all the cards. They’re playing high-stakes poker while we’re playing Go Fish. It’s not fair to the other countries trying very hard to stay neutral when it’s our problem. Iran is in a good position for a world war while we limp along and wade through bureaucrats for permission to get what we need … except for Patriot and other missiles. We’ve almost run out of them, pounding a country that has shrugged us off.
Then here, Hegseth has egg on his face with the pictures leaking. Of course he hasn’t said much about the war lately. He knows we lost but will *never* admit it. His attention is on testosterone, shaving, warfighters, and manly men, and on holding women and people of color back from the promotions they so richly deserve. He’s still that bantam rooster strutting around on stage.
We are in trouble overseas. We need fast action before Iran turns its attention back our way. And fast action is well known to be impossible. With thanks to Raw Story:
A collection of leaked photos showing “major damage” to U.S. assets in the Middle East sparked renewed calls for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s removal, just as the House narrowly avoided having to consider articles of impeachment against the Trump Cabinet member. “This is major damage to our bases that hasn’t been communicated to the American public,” a deployed U.S. service member told CBS News on the condition of anonymity. “We’re standing there with our eyes closed getting punched in the face.”
Jeremy Johnson, a trucker activist with a substantial online following for his political commentary, warned that the revelations revealing the extent of the damage Iran had inflicted were “just the beginning,” telling his more than 670,000 followers on X to “Buckle up.” //// Ali Abunimah, a prominent author and activist, appeared to mock Hegseth by sarcastically noting, reacting to the photo of the heavily damaged Boeing E-3 Sentry, “That plane looks like it just needs a lick of paint and it will be up and flying in no time.”
Yup, make sure those seatbelts are snug because we are in for one helluva ride. It’s going to be bumpy, and we need a better navigator than Petey Boy, because that guy got to GO. He has no clue about what he’s doing. We don’t need him anymore. We need someone who understands the military. We need this war to be done. Now that there’s another strait that may have started with Iran’s Strait of Hormuz technique: open, close, open, etc. It’s probably the Strait of Gibraltar, but don’t quote me on that. Just get Hegseth punted out the door.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
