What a sight to see! Canada has had enough of Trump and is looking at the electricity they provide to us. It shows the effect of what Trump does while “representing” the US. It’s all bad and no good. When Canada gets pissed to the point that they’re looking at something decidedly unfriendly, well, hoist on our own petard. Thanks to Raw Story:
Canada’s energy minister is relishing the prospect of telling the United States “no” if it comes begging for more electricity. According to an article by Politico, Canadian Energy and Natural Resources Minister Tim Hodgson said that his government is racing to build mines and electricity projects in response to President Donald Trump’s economic aggression. Hodgson said that Canada doesn’t plan to share the resources from those projects.
Ouch. And Trump hates wind power. That’s the easiest and quickest way to get more electricity. He called a halt to everything in progress that started during the Biden administration. Of course, he’s going to be recalcitrant and undo everything Biden had done, and then start pushing dirty fossil fuels. He’s going to continue to abuse Canada, and that is a huge problem. We need the power they are sending to us. They probably won’t cut off the people who depend on Canadian electricity, but that’s it. No more.
Why does Trump hate wind power? Because there is a small wind farm off the coast of his Scotland golf course. Does this prove how petty and selfish Trump is? Oh, absolutely. That’s why he made sure to renew our dependence on fossil fuels. All wind power is currently stopped. Then he attacked Iran. Plus, remember, it hurts the whales. No. It won’t even hurt the electric sharks.
U.S. Ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra told Politico last year that Trump was “very interested” in Canada’s energy and critical minerals, despite Trump’s current conflict and tariff war with the country. According to Politico, Washington sees Canada’s stockpiles as a defense against Chinese dominance of the global market in critical minerals, which are essential to defense, quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and almost every piece of technology.
Now, Hodgson is looking for payback, telling Politico, “I don’t get mad. I get even.”
It’s well deserved, regretfully. Trump has made a huge mess of our relations with Canada and Mexico, which means they aren’t doing us any favors anymore. Now we are supposed to rely on fossil fuels, which are stuck on the wrong side of the Strait of Hormuz. Well done, asshole. Your bright ideas are actually very dim.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
