[EDIT: The headline picture was found *after* the column was written, but seemed appropriate.]
This guy. He seems to enjoy making a fool of himself just about every day now. This one is so petty it’s on the “Ridiculous’O’Meter.” Spin and win, Petey Boy. (clickclickclicketyclick). Ouch. We’re sorry. Your pointer is at Petty Pete. Perhaps you could consider what that’s about, and then try again.
It’s really petty that he’s being over a picture. He’s upset over a *picture*. He’s on the warpath for a four-star general. It takes a huge amount of work, experience, personal characteristics, and more. But Petey Boy is going after him for something ridiculous, and if he manages to get this general fired, well, there goes that resource. These people have to have done some impressive things in their careers. Hegseth is throwing them away. This has been discussed multiple times, so let’s continue with the story.
It’s over a picture. It’s over a picture Petey Boy is calling a selfie. It’s nothing of the kind. This was a picture taken one minute before the last flight left from Afghanistan, if recalled correctly. We definitely botched that retreat, leaving the country after the new government formed, which lasted about a minute, and now ISIS is back at the top. Back to our story. Again.
This was taken on August 30, 2021. 5 years ago. Five. Years. Hegseth is pulling this accusation out of his arse for something five years in the past. Apparently, he has now somehow gotten the idea in his head that this general is a threat to him so get rid of him. Paranoia Pete is suspicious of everyone. How could we have forgotten? Paranoia Pete is everywhere. That’s above and beyond Petty Pete.
My gratitude to Raw Story:
“Mr. Hegseth believed that President Trump wanted heads to roll for the deaths,” the Times reported. “General Donahue was not responsible for security at the bombing site. But he was a top commander at the airport, and so Mr. Hegseth decided he needed to go.” Joe Kasper, Hegseth’s chief of staff, tried to convince his boss that this was a mistake and prepared a notecard with facts about Donahue that he planned to hand over during a brief car ride, according to the report. “The defense secretary glanced at the card and passed it back to his chief of staff,” the Times reported. Hegseth said, “I don’t care.”
Damn, but that is angering. General Donahue was in the area, so he must have been responsible. What backward thinking. That exit was enough of a debacle. Petey Boy doesn’t need to persecute someone based on a picture more than 5 years old. Could General Donahue have been one of the people who told Hegseth the war was unsustainable? Making it two strikes against the General? Who knows. Paranoia Pete lashes out. He’s trying to make someone else’s life miserable. Again.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
