The Furkids decided they wanted an easy-listening, light and breezy melody this week, but couldn’t agree on a song. They asked me for a recommendation – this doesn’t happen very often, so I wanted to take my time thinking about it. After a few seconds (patience is a struggle for most of them), they prompted me with their ideas. The birds suggested a duet, maybe with a choir section. Really? They weren’t making it easy. But then a memory stirred… a song that was definitely a duet, but I didn’t recall if it included a choral section. I checked, and… goodness! It ticked both the boxes!
I played it for them on our jukebox, and they were vociferous in their approval. I chose the version that features the silky voice of Karen Carpenter, singing with John Davidson. We added illustrated lyrics to the brief instrumental section so you can keep singing. It does get a little complex when Karen and John are singing different lyrics simultaneously but we’re confident you’ll be able to follow along. Our regulars have become very adept and we’re all very impressed with you!
We’ve refreshed the jukebox with coins, so just press play, scroll down to the lyrics and sing along!

Thank you to everyone who bought the Furkids a frothy Kofi last week. All proceeds from ko-fi.com/furkids go towards Loula’s health and well-being. We’re saving up for her next vet visit. In the meantime, Loula sends everyone loads of purrs, snuggles and kitty kisses.
