He’s been rather disappointing on some issues that he insisted he wouldn’t support … and then he did. It’s depressing and frustrating to look at a Republican with hope that turns into resignation because, yet again, they’re all about the lies, and there’s no follow-through. Surprise, surprise, he did. Once. We’ll see if there’s follow-through as time goes by.
Words are cheap. Everyone can use them. But the intent behind the words and the results of the words are different. Oh, and there are some single words that have multiple meanings depending on context. An accomplished public speaker can make almost anything believable!
Time to hear from Raw Story:
Massie took to the House floor and read the names of several alleged Epstein co-conspirators. The names included Jes Staley, Leon Black, Les Wexner, David Copperfield, Lapo Elkann, Tom Pritzker, Glenn Dubin, Frédéric Fekkai, Eduardo Teodorani-Fabbri, Jean-Luc Brunel, Daniel Siad, Ramsey Elkholy, Prince Andrew, and Lesley Groff. Everyone Massie mentioned who has spoken publicly about their relationship with Epstein has denied any wrongdoing.
To which we say, of *course* they have denied it. Well, maybe except now Andrew Windsor-Mountbatten. How far he has fallen. But will the “name and shame” actually do any good? Probably not, with Todd using the DOJ as Trump’s attack dog. However, now more names are out there, and anyone who keeps up with the news should hopefully avoid them … although there are also those who would happily join in, much to our disgust.
It happened at a time when the Trump administration is trying to outrun the Epstein files saga, which has consumed much of the second Trump presidency. The Trump DOJ has claimed it won’t release any more files, despite acknowledging that it holds more than 3 million unreleased records.
It’s going to take damn near a miracle to get those out, because of Todd and his rabid pack of attack dogs. The *law* is very clear, but the way Blanche will interpret it is delay, delay, delay. They are spending a ridiculous amount of time to bury this and have not realized, more than 9 months later, that we aren’t going to stop. It’s not just Democrats who are pushing. Three are Republicans and MAGA, pushing, too. This is not something to be protected, no matter what Trump thinks. This was a heinous thing, and it needs to be brought into the light. Human trafficking still goes on, even if not quite this way.
Massie has given us a lot of information. Now, what can be done about it? What is the next step, not counting dragging Donnie into court? Ah well, that won’t happen either. Back to what we can do with Massie’s information, since it’s a sure bet the DoJ won’t do a damn thing.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
