Things have not been going his way lately. Too many “noes” and not enough “yesses”. He hates it when situations don’t go his way, and he’s had quite a few things go south. If you look at his latest insane Truth Social posts, you can see just the slightest crack in his self-important facade. He may not have realized it yet, but it’s there. And when it breaks open more, he’ll attack, delay and obfuscate, but there’s nothing he can do about who has seen it. My compliments to Raw Story:

President Donald Trump has spent multiple nights this weekposting angry screeds” on social media, and while not uncommon for the commander-in-chief, its increased frequency set off alarm bells for one former Trump administration official and security expert. “I want to talk about a SINGLE WEEK. This past week,” wrote former Homeland Security senior official Miles Taylor in an analysis published on his Substack on Tuesday. “If y’all didn’t sense it, something shifted these past few days, and you can measure it by the headlines.”

Oh, yes, how could we forget the headlines? The ones where Trump hasn’t been doing so well? He posted even more viciously than we are used to hearing. We shouldn’t be hearing from him, but Trump is not a normal president, and he doesn’t know how to sleep at night. His ‘mind’ goes in circles; he gets more and more angry, and, boom, manic, nasty, oh dark hundred posts. It doesn’t seem like he sleeps at all, and that’s a problem. Not sleeping gets to you. It messes you up, big time. But it could be all he knows.

On Sunday, Trump attacked several of his political adversaries on social media in a late-night posting spree. He launched similar attacks on social media again the next night. And the reason, Taylor argued, was the president’s unprecedented wave of setbacks he encountered over the previous seven days, setbacks that have sent the president “spiraling.” “Six different fronts in the anti-corruption fight in one week,” Taylor wrote.

“A slush fund paused… a president’s name ordered off a national landmark… a lifeline thrown to purged FBI agents… a thousand voices on the record against a Trump gag order… a federal agent in handcuffs for Trump’s unconstitutional crackdown… and a detention camp on the brink of closure.”

That’s a whole lot of “gone wrong” now, isn’t it? It’s a toss-up as to which was worse for him, the slush fund nope or having to remove his name. It infuriates him to have to undo something. He takes it as a personal insult, which, in these cases, it was. He can’t pay J6ers and his name removal. We know how he likes to have his name on *every-damn-thing*, so taking it down- well, it’s a surprise we didn’t see the explosion from DC everywhere in the country. This brings a nasty grin to my mouth. Well, shoot, they all do. We all should be smiling over this.

Trump has taken a series of unprecedented “losses” in recent days, and from his “own friends and allies.” With the primary election season largely finished – and the threat of facing a Trump-backed challenger mostly gone – GOP lawmakers are “suddenly finding it advantageous to oppose” the president, Punchbowl News reported Tuesday. “This is why Trump is staying up late [at] night and having social-media meltdowns. He sees what’s happening, and he can’t believe that an all-powerful, would-be king is being thwarted like this,” Taylor wrote.

Thwart away, keep up the good work, don’t stop now! It’s a delicate balance for the more visible people showing up against Trump. It needs to be sneaky and quiet, so he has no idea of what’s going to happen until the time it happens. But the rest of us, the No Kings crowds, every time he sees we’ve outdone the time before, must shoot up his blood pressure for hours. Now, let’s see what else we can do until the next protest.

See you tomorrow!

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
