Today is off to a rollicking start. Do you remember Bill Pulte, who is the head of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, and who accused Adam Shiff, Letitia James, and other Trump enemies of mortgage fraud? Well, he has just been appointed the Acting Director Of National Intelligence. Just the kind of guy you want to see in that role with the background he’s already got of persecuting Trump’s enemies.

Pulte has zero qualifications for this job, not that this is original in the Trump administration. During Trump 1.0, Trump appointed a young guy to head up the opioid crisis and the fellow had zero qualifications beyond the fact that his brother had ODed. I once knew a banker whose brother ODed and he would have been better off dealing with the opioid crisis than this 24 year old kid.
Let’s see how long Pulte lasts and if he manages to get confirmed. There’s got to be an amazing story behind this ludicrous nomination and hopefully it will surface today or tomorrow.
