The saga continues. Republicans are not happy with Trump and his choice in something. They are letting him know just how angry they are. Republicans standing up to Trump? Who gave them back their spines? There seems to be a trend for that. Perhaps they have figured out that being attached to him is an almost certain death knell. Now, this won’t matter in truly red states. But there are others. All they need to do is stand away from Trump and discuss actual problems and solutions. That’s a big ask of them. Donald Trump’s string of big primary wins on Tuesday, where his hand-selected candidates took out some of his biggest critics in the Republican Party, was undercut by his endorsement of controversial Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is now expected to be the nominee in place of incumbent Sen. John Cornyn.
Yea. A lot of people don’t like Paxton in the slightest, including me. The man is putrid, catacombs slime. And Trump is throwing his weight behind Paxton. And it’s in Texas. Well, we can hope to have a good showing because our Democratic candidate is doing well with fundraising, and he’s quite popular. But it feels like flipping the seat will be nearly impossible, because it’s Texas.
Appearing on MS NOW’s “Morning Joe,” conservative journalist David Drucker of The Dispatch reported on Wednesday morning that Trump’s pick of the scandal-plagued Paxton has the GOP leadership furious, and the president has been told in no uncertain terms that Paxton should not expect any party money for his general campaign should he win his primary battle as expected.
“I will say one thing about Texas, because I can’t help myself,” he told the MS NOW panel. “As I said last week — I’m just going to be wrong one day — I’ve been covering Texas for two decades, it’s the big red whale, and it’s really hard for Democrats to flip; do not expect, don’t expect party and party-affiliated organizations to spend a dime there.”
Ouch. That’s more than pissed off. That’s rage. To flat-out, bluntly tell Trump no, well, that’s surprising. They are not going to support a sleazy candidate like Paxton. It will induce screams if he wins the primary. He knows nothing about government in Congress. And how many women is he going to grab? That’s another factor to be considered with this bottom feeder.
What they’re telling me is that Trump has plenty of money, all of his groups,” he added. “You’ve got about $350 to $400 million, depending on how you count it. And since he has the money and since, as one Republican insider told me, ‘You broke it, you bought it,’ they’re going to say, ‘This is your project. We have more important, more pressing needs in North Carolina and Maine and everywhere else.‘”
BOOM. You break it, you bought it. Trump is going to have to spend his “own” money in Texas. He is not going to like that one little bit. We can almost glimpse rage posts incoming. He runs on whatever impulse his sick, twisted mind gives him. And then America has to listen to it again. It’s gotten old because when you break them down, they’re all the same. He picks a person, rages, and threatens him or her. Then, 24 hours later, he’s off raging about something else. The most creative things that have come out of him are the AI-generated things, like Trump as Jesus. Someone probably created them for him. But it’s really the same thing every day. Remember his supervillain post from the past day? This man-child has the nuclear codes.
