Rudy has been out of the news for a while but he’s back. The reporting is vague at this hour. We know he’s in the hospital, in critical but stable condition. How he got there is the big question. Guiliani is 81 years old and known to imbibe a bit so anything is possible. The Hill:
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) has been hospitalized but is in stable condition, a spokesperson told The Hill on Sunday.
“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same strength now. We do ask that you join us in prayer for America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani,” said Ted Goodman, a spokesperson for Giuliani.
Giuliani, who served as President Trump’s adviser and personal lawyer for part of Trump’s first term, was pardoned by Trump last year for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
Giuliani was disbarred from practicing law in Washington, D.C., and New York for making false claims about the 2020 presidential election. He was also forced to give up his assets to pay the election workers he defamed. There has been no evidence of widespread voter fraud in that election.
Guiliani said years ago that he “didn’t care about” his legacy and he’s leaving behind quite the mixed one. As Jimmy Breslin said about Rudy, “He’s a man in search of a balcony.” Sounds about right.
