[I wrote a novella here. You have been … warned.]

It seems that Trump has washed away all his chances of showing the American people there’s still something worthwhile in him. Now, *we* know what a disaster he is. From another article: he’s chaos in a human body. That sentence describes Trump so perfectly that it needed to be passed on. But this op ed writer I am using says he still has a chance to make atonement for his “sins”. It doesn’t make any sense, knowing what we know about Trump. Gratitude to Raw Story:

In a lengthy op-ed published Monday, author and policy expert William Becker laid out what he described as the “stench of scandal” President Donald Trump may have permanently placed on the White House, but despite his countless controversies, the president still had one “last chance” at achieving redemption, one that Becker urged Trump to consider before it’s too late.

“The voting public has twice allowed Trump to redeem his legacy. Each time, he has only made it worse. His last chance is to resign now, citing health reasons,” Becker wrote in an op-ed published in The Hill. “If he doesn’t, then the challenge of redemption will pass to Congress. History will remember its current members more kindlyif they do their jobs by removing Trump from office before he does irreparable damage to the country.”

Not so sure he has not damaged the country. When you look at Trump’s behavior, bullying behavior, or going from bullying and begging them, his outright failure of an illegal war, bullying states to gerrymander because he is afraid for not just the House but now the Senate? He flounders in an ocean of his own creation, and Congress doesn’t always go along with all of his farces of executive orders. The Senate is seeing the light. It’s going to be a challenge with Moses MAGA Mikey Jones as the current Speaker of the House. No, I don’t like him. At all.

Becker meticulously listed what he considered to be the Trump administration’s worst controversies

having “repeatedly violated the Constitution,

engaged in profitable conflicts of interest

abused his pardon power

deployed the military against the civilian population

ignored citizens’ constitutional rights

withheld public funds from states that didn’t vote for him,

and used the threat of legal action and the denial of federal funds to extort private corporations and universities into conformance with his policies.”

Oh, my goodness gracious, that’s one helluva list and definitely all true. We’ve watched it happen, being pretty helpless to do anything about it, and not by a lack of will. Then someone started No Kings. It continues to build every single time, and now it’s spread across the world. Trump is worried about them. There are not only the big ones. It’s a gazillion smaller ones. Well, he should! He doesn’t want to consider that the ones all around the world could be in places where it just might move up the scale.

And yet, despite the Trump administration’s increasing number of precedent-breaking controversies, were Trump to willfully step down from office, Becker argued, his legacy could be spared from being reduced to a historic “morality lesson.” The president also had a plausible reason to resign, one that could allow him to save face, Becker suggested, given Trump’s numerous suspected health issues.

We do know some of his health issues from the information they gave us in the news. Swollen ankles. Bruises on his hand, gets out of breath very quickly, as shown by a speech he gave recently, and doesn’t move well. We’ve seen that last one when he’s at the golf course, not only for taking a long time to get to the tee, but he also rides a golf cart from one hole to the next. And he’s fat.

“He doesn’t understand, or perhaps will not admit, that he is memorializing a decade in which he caused decay, division, degradation, degeneration, and disgrace,” Becker wrote. “Once Trump leaves office, the plaques on his monuments will explain how the government failed America and nearly allowed the world’s continuing democracy to slip away.”

Honestly, I’m wondering if we will still *have* a democracy by the time he leaves, because he wants a dictatorship. The way he’s going with everything he’s doing here, with ICE/CBP, is just one example of something he uses. And the longer the damn war goes on, the higher gasoline prices will be. Unblock the Strait, you fcking arse!!!

Pardon me. I get so pissed with this war and what Trump and Hegseth are doing. He’s not hurting Iran at all with his blockade. He’s hurting the rest of the world, and our country will suffer. They already think Trump is nuts, but voters put him in there, and so they look at the US as a whole, as I was told by a reader. That’s a major problem, folks. What are we going to lose because Trump is a raging dick?

My apologies for starting so late. I had massive computer problems. See you soon!

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

    • To me, his resigning would not redeem him by any measure. It would stop and reduce the damage he is doing to the US and the world, depending on what his successor does.

      • That’s an interesting point of view, but then I expect that from you 🙂 🙂 🙂 yes it would at least stop the damage and give us a better chance of fixing things. His “legacy” is gong to be wretched no matter what he does. And then stain on the US for putting this nasty imbecile back in office is going to follow *us* forever. The is not comforting. It’s actually very painful.

      • If you are confused about Bob’s reference to Mr. Becker, perhaps this AI Overview will tell you what Bob is talking about:

        AI Overview

As of April 2026, policy expert William Becker has publicly urged President Donald Trump to resign on health grounds to preserve his legacy, citing mounting controversies and questions about his fitness for office. This follows reports of erratic behavior, including being excluded from national security briefings, leading to renewed 25th Amendment discussions.

I hope that this is what Bob was talking about, but I don’t know.

  1. and does the article specify exactlty what kind of legacy he thinks trump could leave? he’s already objectively the worst president in the country’s history.

  2. Sadly, the only positive legacy he will have is that the day he shuffles off this mortal coil will be the largest worldwide celebration in history.

    • Indeed. That’s not how I would like to be remembered. Apologies to you and everyone for the delay in replying. Hope you and others come back to look.
