The allegations include claims that Chavez-DeRemer, a former Oregon congresswoman, drank on the job in her Washington, D.C., office and had an affair with one of her bodyguards.
Chavez-DeRemer’s senior aides, as well as her husband and father, had also come under investigation after they regularly sent personal messages and made personal requests of young staff members in creepy texts, The New York Times reported last week.
White House Communications Director Steven Cheung confirmed Chavez-DeRemer’s departure on X, writing: “Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer will be leaving the Administration to take a position in the private sector. She has done a phenomenal job in her role by protecting American workers, enacting fair labor practices, and helping Americans gain additional skills to improve their lives.
For somebody with an aversion to alcohol, Trump certainly surrounds himself with enough people who abuse the beverage. “Private sector” basically means that one has been excommunicated from Trump world and will never be heard of again.
