You know this has to be good. And we have some comments outside of Trump’s rant. The Pope does not give a darn about what Trump thinks. Trump has no jurisdiction over him. About all he can do is rage when his fee-fees get hurt by something the Pope said. Personally, I think Pope Leo is great! Remember when he did that huge live message during Trump’s parade flop? Then add in No Kings, and together we blew Trump and his ego out of the water. If you didn’t know already, No Kings continues to grow! I’m hoping for double-digit thousands for the next. But I digress. Trump is mad at the Pope. Pope Leo probably has something to the effect of “go away, you bother me” in reference to Trump. Okay, so that’s not going to be his style, but it made me chortle. I keep getting this image of Pope Leo brushing a bee with Trump’s face on it off his collar. And I decided to write a novella. A ton of thanks to Raw Story:
Political analysts and observers mocked President Donald Trump on Sunday night after he issued a lengthy diatribe against Pope Leo XIV. Pope Leo has sharply criticized the Trump administration’s immigration policies and its war with Iran. Those criticisms seem to have gotten under Trump’s skin, as he raged at the “weak” Pope for his handling of “crime” and “foreign policy” in a new post on Truth Social.
LOL what? Crime and foreign policy? How does the Pope handle crime? I can understand foreign policy, but not crime. Pope Leo has been very outspoken about what Trump and his policies and his sycophants have been doing. Good for him! I’m thrilled that he is doing so. If nothing else, people *listen* to him. They pay attention. Trump has no attention span, so he doesn’t think about what Pope Leo has said and blurts out some nonsense. All Trump knows is how to attack. He doesn’t know or care about dialogue. It’s his way or the highway. One of these years it will be *our* way AND the highway.
“I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon,” Trump wrote. “I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a Country that was sending massive amounts of Drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers, into our Country.”
“And I don’t want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States because I’m doing exactly what I was elected, IN A LANDSLIDE, to do, setting Record Low Numbers in Crime, and creating the Greatest Stock Market in History,” he added. “Leo should be thankful because, as everyone knows, he was a shocking surprise. He wasn’t on any list to be Pope and was only put there by the Church because he was an American, and they thought that would be the best way to deal with President Donald J. Trump. If I wasn’t (sic) in the White House, Leo wouldn’t be in the Vatican.”
Donnie isn’t Catholic, so why is he ranting about a Pope he “doesn’t want”? At least I’m pretty sure, not 100%, he’s *not* Catholic. He pretends he is religious, and we all know it’s a blatant, flat-out lie. He does it to make himself look more Christian. Well, I believe a true Christian wouldn’t say the things he does. He wouldn’t act the way he does. I’ve been out of mainstream religion for decades, but I know people who are absolutely certain of their faith. I don’t understand it, but they *know*. More power to them. But I digress.
The accusations that the Pope wants Iran to have nuclear weapons are nonsense. We have no proof of anything in Venezuela except that we snatched Maduro and his wife in the middle of the night. I’m still not sure what the point was in that. We were already bombing the hell out of supposed drug runners, and THERE WAS NO PROOF. Then there’s going back and killing survivors. I wish Hegseth could be brought up on charges for that. One of these days, we will get him, and he will pay. But the point still is that what we did was wrong. There’s never been a concrete reason for why we snatched Maduro and his wife.
He’s still harping on that landslide, which was nothing of the sort. You know that, and I know that, and he’ll never, ever admit it. Hell, if he’s still harping on how 2020 was “stolen” from him, he’ll never back down on the landslide. Personally, I wish that we had had a landslide that buried him. Low crime, the greatest stock market – these are nothing of the sort. Crime had already *been* decreasing before he got into office … except for the random mass shootings. The stock market is its own subject, especially with all the insider trading going on.
Pope Leo was *not* chosen as the new pope because he’s American. That had nothing to do with it. He’s the one the Cardinals felt was best suited for the position. Trump had nothing to do with it. To close, a bit of humor:
Political analysts and observers reacted on social media. //// “Bro, go to bed,” Rep. Malcom Kenyatta, a Democrat in Pennsylvania, posted on X. //// “I’ve never been closer to converting to Catholicism than this moment,” physician Eric Strong posted on Bluesky. “I have absolutely no intention of ever doing so – but this is still the closest I’ve been.” //// “Trump is a f—— lunatic,” writer Polly Sigh posted on X. //// “Way to build coalitions. Attack the Pope!” writer Wajahat Ali posted on X.
The good stuff is always saved for last. It’s worth the wait. My favorite is “Bro, go to bed”, but all of them are enjoyable. Trump should not want this man as an enemy, although it likely doesn’t matter to him. Pope Leo can do more than Trump recognizes. In the meantime, we’ll wait for Pope Leo’s next “press release”. It’s going to be fun!
See you tomorrow!
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of elderly, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

As an ex-Catholic who grew up in Chicago, I feel especially close to Pope Leo XIV. Like Eric strong, I have no intention of converting (or reconverting?), but I’m prouder of my heritage now than I have been for a long time….
That’s a marvelous thing to hear!
I think he might have convinced me, with his persuasive and cogent, clearly articulated argument, so I won’t be voting for the Pope in the next Pope election.
*snort* 😉
